I point out to you that being a cop does not make one a "hero" any more than being an infantryman.

If everyone's a hero...nobody is.

I wouldn't expect a Union cop to arrest a Union thug and have witnessed that very Brotherhood many times.

this is the m.o. for these trade unnions.show up to a rally in large numbers and push people around.the democratic machine in the commonwealth controls the entire commonwealth.the police will sit back and watch as people are assaulted by roving gangs.when in a more controled setting,one on one their not as full of bravado.why they are so angry is most if not all are unemployed,and will take the 50$ they get for their efforts.

The unions have out lived their usefulness. They are "bargining" themselves out of existance.

Marty didn't deserve that. They have no regard for anyone who opposes them at all. Are any of you going to Boston on Saturday for Noon?  Move On Org will be there for the same reason.  We need to keep up the pressure. We are having an effect. They wouldn't be getting so nasty if we weren't.

No excuses for a Saturday. This will give the people who didn't go yesterday a chance to take a stand. It will give the people who did attend yesterday the chance to do it again!

No incidences reported from Springfield. Just the regular yelling, belittleing, slandering, and one finger salutes.

They are becoming unhinged!

lynch was in local # 7,after he went to law school,some of his first law cases was defending some members of local# 7 in criminal proceedings.most of the cases were misdemeanors,a couple of felony defendants.they were probably at the rally on tuesday,knowing that their lawyer was close at hand!

I feel bad that I couldn't get there as I had planned.

It's awful that this is how things are here. Can anything be done? I don't see how. The citizens and legislature are so pro-government, I don't even think it matters whether or not the unions actually exist.

I have always wanted the Boston Globe to cover the fact that unions often hire people for their picking and protesting. However, it never gets talked about.

You could probably trick them into doing it, or at least admitting they don't care. Next time, have someone call the Boston Globe with a hot story about how the Tea Party got a wealthy corporation to pay most of the protesters to be there. When the reporter begins to show interest, etc - then tell them that the wealthy corporation was a union (they are corporations!) and it was in fact, the other side that did this.

We can't depend on tricking the Globe. It's a long slog but we have to become to big to be ignored. The situation is so much better than even a few years ago. If the Tea Party hadn't created itself with new media than an anti-union protest could have been beaten black and blue and STILL be ignored by the papers and the news bureaus the next day.

BTW: State House News Service is one of the better more straightforward outfits.

Assault and Battery Chargers Should be Filed !!!! (0.00 / 0)

It is clear that an Assault and Battery was committed on Marty Lamb by a male individual. I don't know how old Mr. Lamb is, but if he is 60 or older, than the assault and battery changes  from a simple assault and battery to an assault and battery on a person 60 or older which is a felony. I urge Mr. Lamb to go to the Boston Police and file a complaint along with those who witness this assault.

I would also alert the media on what is going on and put the pressure on the Boston Police to catch this scum bag and bring him before the court.

The loud mouth union worker who is yelling at the members of the Tea Party is clearly from the Iron workers local 7 from South Boston.

Seriously, have there been any further inquiries into the temporal relationship between Capuano's words and the assualt. Those words may have incited violence and Lamb may have a case directly against Capuano.

   UFCW Local 1445. Right now, I employ "Purple thugs" SEIU Local 1199.
  My people make about $12 an hour, $40 a day, taking care of me.
  Back when I was a Personal Care Attendant (PCA), I made $8 an hour. Now stick me in a nursing home and the rate for caring for me rises to $356 a day! And no, they're not unionized! Where is that money going? KACHING! You figure it out.
  When you eliminate collective bargaining, you endorse political hackery. Don't we have enough of that already?
  I'm getting ready to tell our party to stick it where the sun don't shine. Again.
  Why is the Republican party in our state so hell bent on implosion?
  I'm getting tired of beating my head against the wall people.

you make the same mistake as many.  You're talking PRIVATE unions in a PUBLIC union discussion.  Private unions I have no problem with....I can choose to not buy their product or services and do frequently.  I choose Market Basket over Stop and Shop...and save 15+%.  I get the added benefit of getting a courteous english speaking cashier.

PUBLIC unions are the scourge of the taxpayer and a scam to take my money and give it to the Democratic Party, nothing more.  Taking my money, paying a salary, part of which goes to the Union, who pays a Democrat, who negotiates more money out of my pocket, a part of which goes to the Union, which pays a Democrat, who negotiates more money out of my pocket...ad infinitum.

laws NEVER affect a choice I make to purchase a product or service.  They apply ONLY to government projects, and services paid for BY the government.

....because you pay taxes.  You can't choose to "opt out of services" they provide.  

See, the "private" unions want "prevailing wage" because it makes it easier for them to compete in the market.  A non-union company that bids a job has to use prevailing wage rates.  If that were not so, the cost of a great many projects and services would go down.

So, really, in a prevailing wage state, how are these "private" unions "private"?

I think your point regarding "private" unions only really applies to unions when you have a choice.  You have a choice to patronize Market Basket vs Stop & Shop.  

You don't have a choice as to who paves your street, builds your local school, etc...are those unions really "private" in the way you mean?

There is no reason this should not be viral. None. There are lesser offenses getting national attention, and one of our own Congressional candidates gets thrown to the ground and:

crickets, crickets, crickets

I wondered if the footage just sucks because it always gets stuck at the ten second mark. I thought it might be my computer, but a friend told me he has the same problem. I'll pay no respect to State House News Service until this is a public video available on youtube.

Can't even take advantage of an assault. Wow.
