Because this investigation resulted from an unethical mutually beneficial relationship between The S.J.C., Judge Mulligan, and the Globe, the feds fell for it and now are trying to get themselves out of this tar pit.
Remember how the first of the multi-part Globe Spotlight stories came out on a Sunday and the next day the SJC appointed a high powered lawyer with subpoena powers to investigate and stack the deck in favor of their own personal and professional ambitions and opportunities?

Can't wait for those half year OCPF reports to come out in July. I wonder how much more the Senate President has spent with the "To you it's a witch hunt, to them you're the witch", law firm.
