New Novel, Full Asylum, Delves into the Real Issues of 2012

June 18, 2012 (Boston, MA) - While the mainstream media fills the airwaves with stories about Ann Romney's horse and Mitt Romney's dog, a new novel from Monteferro Press delves beyond the headlines to show what's at stake in the 2012 election.  Part dark comedy, part spy thriller, and part political call to action, Full Asylum by Michael Isenberg warns against the threat that ever-growing government intrusion poses to our freedom.

He finds refuge by indulging in spy movies, an obsession that leads him on an off-the-wall journey around metro- Washington. From the ruins of a once fashionable mall to a psychiatric ward in a military hospital, Gimbel is on the trail of  a dangerous - and possibly imaginary - conspiracy to steal a presidential election and fundamentally transform America.

"I show what America will look like if we re-elect Barack Obama and continue on the path he has set for us," Isenberg says  about his debut novel. "The issues this year are the same as they were in 1964, when Ronald Reagan asked us 'whether we  believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.'"

Isenberg brings wide-ranging experience to his fiction, drawn from a checkered career as a Six Sigma Black Belt, weapons merchant, astrophysicist, and manufacturer of cigarette filters. He has provided process and automation expertise to factories on four continents and holds degrees from the University of Virginia, Cornell, and the University of Chicago. Isenberg resides in New England with 844 books and an elderly cat that bites people.
