Globe puts the boots to Tierney

by: Bravehaht

(We've been saying this for a while. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

In an extensive examination of the facts concerning Rep. John Tierney (D- Off Shore) and his connection to illegal gambling, the Boston Globe casts serious doubt on the congressman's assertion that he had no reason to suspect illegal activity.
But a Boston Globe review of court records and other publicly available information shows that John Tierney had ample reason to be wary of his brothers-in-law during his 15 years of marriage to their sister and many opportunities over the last decade to learn that their Antigua-based gambling business was illegally targeting American gamblers.

In fact, John Tierney had reason to be suspicious from the day he married Patrice. At that point, Bob Eremian had fled to Antigua to escape federal prosecution for illegal sports book-making, and had recruited one of Patrice's children, John Chew, to work with him. After a lengthy federal investigation, Bob Eremian pleaded guilty to tax evasion in the gambling case in 2002.

Most damning is the account of Tierney's vote in 2006 against a law to make it easier for prosecutors to enforce laws like the one which eventually led to the prosecution of his brother-in-law.  That is the same brother-in-law who paid Tierney's wife $20,000 a year in "appreciation" for what she had done to help the family.

I read this article and was surprised that the Boston Globe.... (0.00 / 0)
would be so revealing about John Tierney.  Usually the Boston Globe is willing to look the other way when criminal activities are occurring in the households of Democrats.

We are headed for a 'Fiscal Cliff' and the country just elected a dope whose motto is 'Forward'.

Going a little lite on what she got from the brothers: (0.00 / 0)
"That is the same brother-in-law who paid Tierney's wife $20,000 a year in "appreciation" for what she had done to help the family."

But wait, there's more... (0.00 / 0)
He also made her car payment and paid the cell phone bill.  Nothing says I appreciate you, so much, like cold hard cash.

The $20k figure comes from the Globe story.

Now it seems the "court order" story has holes, too (0.00 / 0)
The Globe continues it's precision strikes on the credibility of Rep. John Tierney (D- Off Shore).  Now it seems that the court order which Tierney claimed to believe a seal of approval for his bother-in-law's business was nothing of the kind:

"There is no evidence that this court or the Probation Office was ever told the nature of what the business was in Antigua, or what was happening in Massachusetts," Judge Patti B. Saris told jurors last November as the document was introduced into evidence during the trial of Robert Eremian's brother Daniel.

You'd think that an accomplished trial attorney like Tierney would be able to understand the true significance of such an order.

Keep digging, John.  The hole's bound to get smaller some day.

Tierney Ignorance (0.00 / 0)
If Tierney is not bright enough to have seen what was going on, then he is too stupid to be a Congressman.

Adverstise here for as low as $60 per week.
