Looks like none of you were able to get on the air yesterday to ask Deval Patrick questions on WTKK. It leads one to believe that they are screening the callers, and someone doesn't want tough questions. One Red Mass Group reader said he got through at 9:10 and was put on hold for 50 minutes and didn't get to ask his tough question. What did get asked? Questions about HOV lanes, THE RIDE, and other assorted niceties. Nothing tough, that's a shame.
2. When is a Lobbyist not a Lobbyist, When Greg Bialecki's office says so
Congratulations! You are paying for a lobbyist for the Wampanoag tribe to be able to build a casino. No really, you are (via the Herald News).
The Patrick administration has vowed to advocate for the tribe to get land taken in trust.
The compact's legislative approval followed reports this week that Holland & Knight has been hired by the state to lobby for the tribe's land in trust application before the federal government.
Don't worry though, the administration isn't paying for a lobbyist. Just ask Jason Lefferts, Greg Bialecki's press secretary.
Jason Lefferts, a spokesman for Economic Development Secretary Greg Bialecki, said the firm registered as lobbyists "out of an abundance of caution."
"They're not doing lobbying," Lefferts said. "They're assisting us with communications with the Bureau of Indian Affairs."
Jason, that's funny because communicating with regulatory agencies to affect outcomes is exactly what lobbying is. What's next, "that's not a lost job, that's a transitional opportunity?"

The anti-soda mayor of New York City is hosting a fundraiser for Scott Brown in New York City. One can only hope that the menu includes Big Gulps.

Arriving in email boxes across the land yesterday was a plea from Deval Patrick, asking us to help him by canvassing this weekend for the coordinated Democratic campaign. You know about that right, the canvasses for corruption.
