Elizabeth Warren was the first bar exam taking while breast feeding, Native American woman, to be asked by Wall Street to save Capitalism, to run for the US Senate while riding a Harley! Molon Labe
That's so friggin awesome! Molon Labe
Seriously, after reading his citation, Im left with "I don't get it".....he gets the MOH for purposely crashing his plane and never not once having to deal with the enemy on the ground?
Guess I'm just used to reading citations of grunts like Millett and Patterson. "I acknowledge having racist and classist and sexist feelings of white male superiority." -John Howard
Other than the fact that you get your expertise from About.com...you said nothing.
Unread the guy'a citation. He purposely crashed his plane to assist his buddy and did not meet ONE enemy while doing so....so I don't get it.
See, I'm used to reading about guys like the soon departed Wolfhound Col. Lewis Millett
Capt. Millett, Company E, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action. While personally leading his company in an attack against a strongly held position he noted that the 1st Platoon was pinned down by small-arms, automatic, and antitank fire. Capt. Millett ordered the 3d Platoon forward, placed himself at the head of the 2 platoons, and, with fixed bayonet, led the assault up the fire-swept hill. In the fierce charge Capt. Millett bayoneted 2 enemy soldiers and boldly continued on, throwing grenades, clubbing and bayoneting the enemy, while urging his men forward by shouting encouragement. Despite vicious opposing fire, the whirlwind hand-to-hand assault carried to the crest of the hill. His dauntless leadership and personal courage so inspired his men that they stormed into the hostile position and used their bayonets with such lethal effect that the enemy fled in wild disorder. During this fierce onslaught Capt. Millett was wounded by grenade fragments but refused evacuation until the objective was taken and firmly secured. The superb leadership, conspicuous courage, and consummate devotion to duty demonstrated by Capt. Millett were directly responsible for the successful accomplishment of a hazardous mission and reflect the highest credit on himself and the heroic traditions of the military service.
So yeah....I don't get it. "I acknowledge having racist and classist and sexist feelings of white male superiority." -John Howard
Let the opposing side continue to drive people away with shrill attacks.
This honors one of our neighbors who served his country with distinction in a long ago war. I had never heard of Capt. Hudner either, but I too went and read about what he did on a frigid snowy mountainside 62 years ago.
I don't know why any of you would say disrespectful things when they are uncalled for.
