2. Liberty Delegate goes off message, and it's unfortunate
A liberty delegate from Massachusetts on Tuesday did what the MassGOP folks were afraid of, on the floor of the convention on Tuesday. He said he's not voting for Romney but for Gary Johnson. This is unfortunate, and he should not have said this. He can believe and do what he wants, but on the floor of the convention he should support the nominee. Just like Bruce Tarr should be endorsing GOP candidates. The National Review Online has the story.
Not all the delegates are equally thrilled, however. Aaron McKeon, who voted for Ron Paul in the primary, is leaning toward voting for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian-party candidate, in November. "At the end of the day," he comments, "I don't see a huge amount of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats."
Rumors are flying about whom the mystery speaker tonight is at the Republican National Convention. Jeb Bush may have given it away this morning on Fox and Friends. He said they are "rebuilding the stage" for tonight's secret speaker. I'm guessing Tom Shattuck, Michael Graham's producer was right:
Hologram of the Gipper - giving his 1980 speech.
4. OCPF reports due last night. MARA raises 3948 times what Senate PAC does
The anti-establishment types at the Massachusetts Republican Assembly PAC raised 3948 times what Bruce Tarr raised in his PAC this year. They also have about $1,000 more on hand.
