Scott Brown kicked ass!

by: Karl Marx

Thu Sep 20, 2012 at 20:16:24 PM EDT

(This is your post debate open thread. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

Based on what I heard on the radio Scott Brown demolished Professor Warren in the first debate of the campaign for U.S. Senate. The Democrats did not vet their Senate candidate.

Yes He Did (0.00 / 0)
But as the leading sage in Massachusets Senate races, I'm not calling it yet.
Care to weigh in: Simple, Pogo, Festus, Frank?
BTW: The aforementioned asshole reneges on wagers!
Yo dipwad: care to post my call on BMG? Since we both know they can't handle the truth?

General Disorder (0.00 / 0)
The opposition seems to be in disarray tonight after Hiawatha's dismal performance. The word I am hearing most is SHRILL

He won, but did not kick ass. (0.00 / 0)
Scott Brown opening with the "fake indian" thing?  Really?  Even after the Globe discredited that line of attack?

Scott Brown saying that Global Warming is real and the solution is to mine more coal and drill more oil? Was he answering a different question that only he heard?

Scott Brown accused Elizabeth Warren of killing people with asbestos.  Her response was to say that it wasn't true and to just read about it in the Globe.  Isn't she aware that 47% of voters are illiterate?  That's why they are watching the debate on TeeVee!  I wanted to know briefly why it wasn't true.

And Senator Inhoff?  I follow this stuff kinda and I have no idea who he is.  It's a known fact that 53% of voters don't know any Senator or Rep besides their own.  I don't know what good mentioning Senator Inhoff's name repeatedly does.

Then there was Scott agreeing with Elizabeth that he will never vote for a Supreme Court nominee that would overturn Roe vs Wade?  I said this before when Scott wrote the letter to the GOP about the platform being wrong on abortion, but MCFL's endorsement continues to look ridiculous.  I understand he does a few things right, but really MCFL look like complete fools.

One more thing about MCFL. (0.00 / 0)
I don't normally watch TV or listen to the radio, but I did happen to catch Scott's "prochoice" ad on the radio the other day.  I think I'm quoting it almost exactly:

I'm Scott Brown and I'm the most prochoice prochoicer that ever prochoiced.

Really MCFL?  You endorsed this guy?

Can we vote on The Globe? (0.00 / 0)
I don't think citing the Globe wins over anyone, unless they are sending their children to transgender camps.

Patrick did you really start RMG? And not know how Sen Inhofe is? (0.00 / 0)
Scott Brown's response to climate change was an all of the above approach and a reminder that we can't keep buying oil from people who hate us.

I agree on MCFL. After the 2010 debacle of endorsing Cahill, the group has become a joke.

Scott probably earns the MCFL nod for his principled position on the Catholic exception.

Oh! The Boston Globe Discredited the attack? (5.00 / 1)
Well then that's the end of the issue, innit!

The Boston GLOOOOOOOOBE said it isn't true!

Brown, Hands Down. (0.00 / 0)
Had business tonight so I just watched online.

I really thought Warren would be a better opponent than that.

I don't think she landed a punch all night.

Tough break, Liz.

Well done, Senator.

Bobble head (0.00 / 0)
-Brown took debate no question.

-What's with Warren's head bobbing.  Give that cameraman a raise.

-Brown should work on his pacing.  He had the opportunity to score some serious points if he simply slowed a bit and drilled them home. On Justice Kagan. "you're right professor, I didn't vote for your boss and here's why... (pause)" "Warren supports x trillion tax increase.  Let's add up the new taxes. (pause)...

-She want to go after Brown's record and that's gotta be a losing strategy, no?  Measure it anyway you want, he's a moderate.  Each time she criticized his vote, he seemed to be able to easily defend.

-Letting her know that the he's for the motorist was total slam for Brown.

-War on women.  What a joke.

-Native american thing still has legs.  But isn't the issue this:  she was proud of her heritage until she got tenure then no mention.  What happened to the pride?

Elizabeth Warren: a bankruptcy professor, bankrupt of ideas

I think the native american thing has legs too. I had mostly forgotten it until Warren started running those "the system is rigged" ads which make me explode every time I see them.
The system sure is rigged and let us examine how .... lol

Brown won but I wouldn't call it a blowout but then agains he's just warming up. (0.00 / 0)
He is definitely floating some memorable quotes out there ... I think he's trying to re-create the "Kennedy's Seat/Peoples Seat" quote that made him a rock star the last time around.

I liked when he said "if you want someone who's going to spend your tax dollars give it to Professor Warren she will be happy to spend them."  at the 11:19 mark => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

I was waiting for Liz to scream "No Mas, No Mas! (0.00 / 0)
That was about the most dominating debate performance I have seen in my life!

Senator Brown's debating class that he taught last night was actually worthy of the $250k/ year that Professor Warren makes for teaching her one course!

I can only pray that Romney and Ryan both watched Brown's performance and do as well with their debates!

Only in BMG Land... (0.00 / 0)
...at best it was an "eyes of the beholder" thing.  I agree with the Boston Herald columnists who, along with Scott Leigh, points out how "hot" Brown was and how "cool" Warren was.  For the 10 % swing voter, they turned off all the competing #s being thrown around, ignored the repetitious talking points of both and FELT an aggressive Brown and a calm and cool Warren (not a shrill socialists).

I'll admit to a Bias (0.00 / 0)
But I'm not a Republican, and if I saw Brown dominated last night, I'd have voiced concern.

Numbers by and large do not impress me too much, but honesty comes through.

It was obvious that Warren was trying to spin/distort Brown's record.

The raising taxes on the 98% meme just didn't ring true.

And she failed to score on the contraception issue, which I'm sure she was banking on.

She kept falling back on banal talking points and dreary minutiae.

And what was with the two or three references to James Inhofe? Only wonks even know that name!
It made her appear hyperbolic and desperate.

No, the night went to Brown, and honestly, he didn't even look like he was in top form.

If he can prevail in the next debate, he'll really have her on the ropes, in my opinion.

Oh, Liawatha ........ (0.00 / 0)
Her radical agenda seems to be clouded by a flurry of Asbestos dust.  Hold your breath !

I heard on the radio the other day that she has $9mil more in her coffers than Scott Brown. I hope that Scott's campaign has the sense to use what money it has to ram this Travelers business right down her shrill, whiny throat !  She's a fake Indian and a mercenary lawyer: that she'd be too much even for MA !

Karl Marx, do you have any comments over Elizabeth Warren's Marxism...
