Five things you should know today, October 9, 2012

1. David Kravitz still silent on Warren practicing law without a license

Today marks the two week point that former SCOTUS law clerk David Kravitz has not commented on Elizabeth Warren's lack of law license in Massachusetts.

With yesterday's shot across the bow of the Board of Bar Overseers by the MassGOP, perhaps the long awaited complaint against Warren is coming.

I have always believed that a complaint needed to be filed, by a person with significant gravitas, to both the board of bar overseers, and the District Attorney of Middlesex County.  After all the unlicensed practice of law is a misdemeanor.

2. After strong debate perfomance, Brown opens lead in WBUR poll

In the first public poll taken completely after Scott Brown's stellar debate performance in Lowell last week, Brown has taken a lead in the WBUR poll.  This poll released this weekend by Western New England University was taken from 9/28/2012 to 10/4/2012.  This time period was mostly before the Lowell Debate.

A new WBUR poll (PDFs - topline, crosstabs) finds a turn in the U.S. Senate race. Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Scott Brown now leads his Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren, 47 to 43 percent. The survey, conducted Oct. 5-7, has a 4.4 percent margin of error.

In WBUR's last Senate poll, conducted in September, Warren led brown by two points.

Team Warren may also be seeing the numbers going Brown's way after his strong debate performance.  Yesterday, the DSCC released an internal poll showing Brown down.

3. Team Tisei going after Mass Democratic Chair

Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh is holding a press availability to support the ethically challenged John Tierney today.  Team Tisei has released a list of questions the press should ask him.

1) Did you support John Tierney's decision to stop demanding that debate sponsors prohibit questions about his scandal?

2) Do you agree with the good-government groups that have called on the House to investigate Tierney for not claiming income from illegal gambling on his tax returns?

3) Is Tierney's reelection important for keeping MA a one-party state?

4. Steven Levy, Jim Lyons, vote least with Brad Jones

Beacon Hill Roll Call has compiled a list of the number of times Republicans vote with their leadership.  Representatives Steven Levy and Jim Lyons vote the least with leadership according to the study.

Levy voted 95.7% with Jones and Lyons 95.9% with the minority leader.  The study was based on 374 votes.  The votes Jones and Lyons broke with leadership on are things like health care reform 2.0, and the budget.  Very important votes indeed.

5. New Brown Ad "Taxes"

Nothing (0.00 / 0)
bizarre about it.....he was asked who he would stalk...and he came up with someone.  You ask me who I'd stalk, I'd say.......uh......Elizabeth Shue...20 years ago Elizabeth Shue.  Does not mean that I'm ljoking about stalking her...I'm just answering a hypothetical.

This guy's a weenie.  As you say..."file a claim".  If she/they were in breach of contract....file the claim and go to court.

Otherwise, I don't believe one word of it.

No let Patrick answer the question everyone!  Patrick, who would you stalk?  A chick?  Maybe a dude?  Who?

the breach of contract lawsuit....hack videos from supporters of the political opponent don't mean much.
