Last night I attended the Andover League of Women Voters debates. The second debate of the evening featured two gentlemen vying for the 17th Essex district seat, Francis Moran (D-Lawrence) and Kevin Cuff. Moran is the President of the Lawrence City Council. Moran is also a Latino.
That's why the room was pretty startled that Moran, when asked if Voter ID should be mandatory, said "absolutely" and explained how he had done so on the Lawrence City Council, who's home rule petition for voter ID was shot down by the legislature.
