| 3. Brown down 5 in latest poll
The latest WBUR poll shows Brown down five points to Elizabeth Warren. Of course we are still two weeks out from the election and a lot can happen between now and then. Most importantly you helping the campaign.
Get to a victory center and make phone calls or knock doors. Your work will change this election as it still remains close. Let's not close weak. Let's close this thing strong.
This weekend I will be in Precincts 5-3 and 6-1 in Lowell knocking the neighbors I grew up with.
4. Union Bigs cashing in
While their rank and file members are decimated by the economy wrought by 35 years of supermajority Democratic control in Massachusetts, union big-wigs are cashing in. So says the Boston Herald
Hub union bosses, including a prominent Democratic lawmaker, are getting six-figure salaries and perks such as SUVs and credit cards while slamming U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Republicans for siding with the rich, federal documents show.
State Rep. Martin Walsh (D-Boston) earned $167,911 in 2011 as secretary/treasurer of the Building and Construction Trades Council, while also taking home his $67,000 legislative salary, according to Labor Department financial records submitted by the union group.
The Building Trades organization also paid for a brand new $38,750 Jeep for Walsh to use, documents show.
5. You've got two weeks to leave it all on the field
Are you going to let Elizabeth Warren be our next U.S. Senator? Are you going to let Barry Finegold return to the State Senate? Are you going to let Terry Murray do the same?
Are you going to let Danielle Gregoire beat Steven Levy? Are you going to let Angelo D'Emilia get beaten, or Rich Bastien, or Kevin Kuros, or Jim Lyons, or Shaunna O'Connell, or Keiko Orrall, or George Ross, or Ryan Fattman?
Are you going to let Diana "Rostrum Nookie" Dizoglio beat Karin Rhoton?
If you aren't knocking on doors or making phone calls over the next 12 days that is exactly what you are doing. The most impact you can have is talking directly to YOUR neighbors, in YOUR neighborhood. So stop by one of the victory centers and pick up some lit and go see your neighbors. Tell them why it is important they vote for reform.
You're smart, you understand this stuff. Make sure your neighbors do too. |
