Tie goes to who?

(A tie is broken by the Papal Conclave method.  They revote until the tie is broken. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

I saw this morning that State Committee member Barbara Bush has endorsed Kirsten Hughes. This brings the endorsement count to a 35-35 tie between Hughes and Rick Green on the eve of tomorrow nights vote. This got me to thinking. What happens if the vote tomorrow night ends up 40-40? How would the tie be broken? Just curious.

Forgot to put this in... (0.00 / 0)
Everyone else is doing this now so I should as well. In the interest of full disclosure, I am supporting Rick Green.

Time to gamble people! (0.00 / 0)
I have the over/under for SC Members showing up for the vote at 73.  [Clearing throat] And I got 100 RMG bucks backing me up on this.  Any takers?

Your RMG bucks are no good.... (5.00 / 1)

Wait ... (5.00 / 2)
I've gotta check with my booky ... Does anyone have John Tierney's number ?

Nobody (0.00 / 0)
A tie vote goes to nobody. The State Committee will continue to vote, round after round, until either the log jam breaks or Hell freezes over.  That process will continue until a majority vote is reached.

In the event that there are more than 2 candidates then the "low man out" is dropped from the next round of voting.  If it's just Kirsten & Rick and we're tied round after round then it could be a very long night.

Paul, would you really want me to arm Kirsten with my collection of swords, battle axes, war hammers, and flails?  :)

YES!!! That would be EPIC! N/T (0.00 / 0)

Wasn't there something about white smoke? (0.00 / 0)
I thought they continued to vote until we saw white smoke from the chimney....Or am I thinking of something else?

Sorry but the Verve Crowne Plaza ain't the Sistine Chapel!

And we... (0.00 / 0)
...sure ain't the College of Cardinals! (For one thing, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would raise eyebrows at the Jewish member of that body...)

And certainly... (0.00 / 0)
...neither Rick Green nor Kirsten Hughes are infalliable!  Not only do we allow non-Catholics on the MassGOP State Committee, at one time in Massachusetts we may not have been allowed on it or the Dem's SC!

I'm 99% certain that a tie is broken by... (5.00 / 1)
Joe Biden.

A 35 to 35 tie at this point....... (0.00 / 0)
May I suggest a 'steel-cage' match in order to break the tie?
