Weld, Evangelidis and Romney Out

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Mon Feb 04, 2013 at 11:03:32 AM EST

Bill Weld, Worcester District Sheriff Lew Evangelidis, and Ann Romney are all out of the special election for United States Senator.

It is widely being reported that Weld has decided to take a pass in numerous news sources.

Lew Evangelidis told the Worcester Telegram that he is not running for the GOP nomination.

A high placed official in the Massachusetts Republican Party, with knowledge of the situation, has told Red Mass Group that Ann Romney is not running for the seat either.

That leaves one declared candidate, Doug Bennett of Dorchester, and two as of yet undeclared candidates, Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk) and the former Navy SEAL Gomez.

Has anyone heard any other names.

Kerry Healy (0.00 / 0)
But it seems like she is always considering it. Anyone heard anything from Karyn Polito? Short of finding another Scott Brown this race simply won't matter. We may all want to switch party IDs real quick and vote for Steve Lynch.

Sean Bielat (0.00 / 0)
Where is Sean Bielat? Sean could mount a formative and creditable challenge. Another pick would be Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson. I would love to see a debate between Hodgson and whatever Dem stooge ends up in the general election.

Adverstise here for as low as $60 per week.
