More interesting than Brown vs Baker will be Clinton vs Biden vs Patrick

( - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

I know simpleton would like to sow the seeds of discord throughout the Republican Party, but an even bigger family fued to watch for is the inevitable Clinton vs Biden vs Patrick showdown that is headed for the Democrat Patry.

Here is the what is happening.  Joe Biden, as the Vice President, is the presumed default candidate for the Presidency in 2016.  Why else would Obama chose Biden if not to be his successor?  But then, Hillary Clinton, who has been the faithful party servant, and previous Presidential candidate has already become the front runner.  But, in the wings is Gov Deval patrick, who many party insiders say is absolutely going to run for the Presidency in 2016.

The Democrat Party will have to make some tough decisions.  Do they nominate Joe Biden the VP for two term Obama?  Do they finally get around to Hillary and nominate her because she is a party servant and a woman?  Or do they go with Deval Patrick, the carbon copy of Obama, and try to squeeze another 4 or 8 years out of the poor Chicago street kid story?

This is going to be a bloody battle indeed, and one I think will likely rip the party into not two, but three or four factions.  Obama has already 'unofficially' endorsed Hillary, which makes me think a deal was made long ago between the Obamas and the Clintons.  That leaves old Joe Biden out in the cold.  But then again, Deval Patrick might assume Obama will throw his endorsement behind a brother.  Patrick too has been a big supporter of Obama over the last 4 years.  Finally, old Joe Biden may be too dangerous to ignore.  As the sitting VP he can pull a lot of strings that would expose Hillary as a fraud in order to gain the seat himself.  Joe should not be trifled with!

It will be fun to watch, get the popcorn...

My movie starts first... (0.00 / 0)
Besides, mine has subplots...yours is just about two top tier candidates and a few tier 2s, like a Coumo.  But really, does anyone really think Patrick does not understand the MA curse in Prez politics.  The guy is going to ride off into the sunset of electoral politics to the world of big money.  But what do we expect from a guy the screams "See no Global Warming" every time snow is forecast.

The Democrats will be a sitcom.... (0.00 / 0)
Think about it Simpleton...  Joe Biden is crazy enough to think he is the obvious successor to Obama.  He IS running!  He has already hinted at it.  On the other hand, Hillary is running, and in order to knock off Old Joe she will have to attack Biden via attacking Obama's record.  She can't run a campaign on 'more of the same'.  It has to be a 'why I am better' campaign.  Joe and Hillary will kill each other in the race because Hillary is tenacious and Joe is crazy.

Then, on the sideline is Deval, who we know will not think twice about playing the race card to get what he wants.  Can't you just see Deval saying to Hillary (as he did to Kerry Healey) 'If you'd come down off your high horse and see how it actually works in the street'?  Oh that would be too delicious!  The party would be split between old time Democrats (Biden) - women Democrats (Hillary) and minority Democrats (Deval).  It will be a freakin' bloodbath.

God, I hope they sell tickets....

Devalue is going nowhere ! .... (0.00 / 0)
If he runs, he won't make through the NH primary. It's Sen. Mark Warner fighting for the sole of the Democratic Party that ought to be interesting. Watch him defending people who make a profitable living.  It would be hilarious if it weren't for real !

If/when Hillary runs... (0.00 / 0)
...everybody from Obama on down will tell Joe that life is sometimes about timing and Joe's timing sucks.  I'm not sure if you can fathom how much of a lock Hillary has on the nomination.  Sure lots of things change, but Obama particularly endorsed her on 60 minutes the other month.

And take someone like me.  In 2006/7 I was a bona fide anti-Hillary Dem, who went to NH days after that 06 election and encourage Obama run (he was on a book tour, it was about 2 months before he announced).  Like many Dems then we feared Hillary would be to divisive and the country had enough of the Bush/Clinton/Bush years and there was no way the country would go with another Clinton.  Since then, every single anti-Hillary person that I new from those days are card-carrying supporters of Hillary.  We were right back then and we're right now.  Assuming not major bleep-ups, when Hillary says she's now "thinking" about running, nearly every Dem will get in line...enthusiastically.  If Biden thinks he can challenge a tsunami wave, that is his problem.

I agree that Hillary owns the nomination, but.... (0.00 / 0)
I am not so sure crazy old uncle Joe will 'go gentle into that good night'.  Joe Biden is so close to the Presidency that if Obama takes a single step backwards Biden can taste what he had for lunch.  Biden wants this thing, and he is a career politician.  He has been at this game a lot longer than Hillary.  Uncle Joe is crazy, but he ain't stupid.  He is gonna fight for this.  He may be the spoiler in the bunch, but why not?  What would it say to the Party if the #2 guy was asked to just walk away?

Obama: "Go home Joe, you're done here."

Crazy Uncle Joe: "Why can't I be President?  Why not let the people decide?"

Obama: "We don't want a dirty fight Joe"

Crazy Uncle Joe: "But I was the Vice President, and this would be nearly unprecedented.  The VP is always the next in line."

Obama: "Not this time Joe.  Thanks for stopping by."

Crazy Uncle Joe: "This is on.  Hillary may beat me, but not without a fight.  I am not going to roll over and play dead."

In walks Deval Patrick

Deval: "Yo, what about your promise to help out the brother?"

Obama: "I could not have won in 2008 without Hillary's supporters, So I made a deal with her".

Deval: "You made a deal with her too.  What about the deal with me?"

Obama: "You were from the other side of Chicago."

Deval: "Hey Joe, since we are left out in the cold, what say we team up and make a run for this?"

Join us next week for the continuing saga of Democrat politics.  Will Joe Biden turn this into a 'big f*ckin deal?'.  Will Deval Patrick cry racism against the first black President?  Will Hillary suddenly forget who she is due to previous head trauma brought on by the Benghazi Flu?  Will Bill Clinton get caught groping an intern?  Will Obama dump his nasty wife for a younger POA without those foolish bangs? Tune in next time to 'As The White House Turns'.

I just hope the whole thing is in 3D...

I am able to entertain myself..... (0.00 / 0)
but not in the same sense as you, I'm sure...

What I do is called 'satire'.  It is a funny look at how things are.  Sadly it requires 'imagination', which you are sadly lacking.  But the word is worth looking up anyway in a book we call the 'dictionary'.  You can find all kinds of words in there that are useful quite often.

You may not be familiar with a dictionary as you are a Democrat, and everything you think and say is spoon fed and approved by a committee in Washington or Cambridge or some other progressive thinktank type of town.  Basically, you go from blog to blog digesting all the far left talking points and then regurgitating them verbatim to people you don't agree with.  You can't actually explain any of your theories or policies as they aren't yours - they are someone else's thoughts and ideas carried by you to others like a bucket of slop to awaiting pigs.

So how is the weather over at your place Simple?  It ain't so good in the midwest...More of those pesky 'global warming theory busting' blizzards.

Simple, are you unaware that the VPUSA is insane ?  He has always believed himself to be the pitbull for the "working man" (read "union hacks").  He absolutely believes they will support him.  He is, in fact just a bloviating carnival barker. The only thing that will keep him from running is if Jill gets him some decent medicine before 2016.

As I said above... (0.00 / 0)
...if he runs against Hillary, for whatever the reason or motivation is, he will lose...assuming nothing major happens between now and then.
