NO Bathroom Bill - STOP House Bill 1728

KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN'S BATHROOMS
Safety and Privacy for All People

There is a dangerous bill pending before the Legislature right now. The "bathroom bill" (HB 1728) would allow anyone to use public restrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, etc., according to their "gender identity or expression," which the bill defines as "a gender-related identity, appearance, expression, or behavior of an individual, regardless of the individual's assigned sex at birth."

This clause opens a dangerous legal loophole. Because of the bill's vague wording, any man could legally gain access to facilities normally reserved for women and girls simply by indicating, verbally or non-verbally, that he inwardly feels female at the moment. Public and charter schools and their sports teams and facilities are not exempt. This is the dangerous reality of this bill.

We believe that persons with Gender Identity Disorder (GID) deserve professional support (as called for by the American Psychiatric Association) as well as community compassion, but this misguided bill ignores the broader community and invites abuse.

You have the power to stop this bill, but you must contact your legislator now!

BNCordeiro :: NO Bathroom Bill - STOP House Bill 1728
The Judiciary Committee has announced that the hearing on the "bathroom bill" will be Tuesday, July 14th at 1 PM in the Gardner Auditorium at the State House.

Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to come to Boston that day to either testify or show your opposition to the "bathroom bill." MassEquality and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition are devoting all of their resources to passing this bill. We must counter their bogus arguments with the real implications of the "bathroom bill."

Plan to attend the hearing on July 14th and call the Judiciary Committee today at 617.722.2396 (House) and 617.722.1639 (Senate). Ask then to oppose HB 1728, the "bathroom bill." Tell them that this dangerous bill would open up single-sex bathrooms and locker rooms to anyone who simply says they "feel" like that gender.

Your calls, letters and emails made a HUGE difference last year in killing this bill. Be sure to share this with your friends and neighbors.

I can't believe this is what paid public employees consider with our money.  I am sympathetic to those with a gender identity disorder but this is just nuts.  Unless it is very explicit how long before some nutbull decides to throw on dress and heels and it taking pictures under the stalls.

That being said, even if it's worded more tightly, we're going to impose this in our schools?  So let me get this straight....the state now weighs my children (like we don't know who the fat kids are).  They cannot bring so much as an aspirin to school, and they cannot bring anything to eat deemed "unhealthy" by the state (like candy).  They're being told that same sex marriage is just fine (regardless of how one feels, school is not the place for this discussion).
However, they can get birth control, and my daughter may not know the sex of the person in the stall next to her.

Has this state gone completely off the deep end?   I really think the term "Liberal Fascism" was made for cases like this.  Are we not creating secular madrassas with our schools?

I wonder if I can get an exemption on paying my taxes for being a conscientious objector?
