Pro-Life Dems Bolt Obama-Care!

by: Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie

Tue Jun 30, 2009 at 18:59:16 PM EDT

19 Pro-Life Democrats bolt Obama-care over abortion funding.  They issued a letter to Speaker Pelosi that included the following statement:
We cannot support any health-care reform proposal unless it explicitly excludes abortion from the scope of any government-defined or subsidized health insurance plan.

Amen.....There is a ray of hope in the Democrat Party......n/t (0.00 / 0)

No lightweights either (0.00 / 0)
Some of these guys are pretty ranking members. I'll give some of these guys credit to because they're the real deal. Lot of Dems claim to be pro-life but some of these ones are solid.

How many Republicans join them? (0.00 / 0)

And, what about other controversial funding? (0.00 / 0)
All controversial funding should be out, and if people want to purchase an additional private plan for abortion or IVF or ART or prescription drugs or organ transplants, private companies can sell those supplemental plans.  We can't allow our country to fund those things, let alone to allow them in the first place.

...and what about things such as (0.00 / 0)
immunizations, bone setting, dialysis, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, aenesthetics, endoscopy, surgery, medical supplies, doctors, nurses?

Our country should not be paying for such controversial things.

I don't think that's his point (0.00 / 0)
I think he's talking about Breast Implants and Penis Pumps.

His point (0.00 / 0)
is to be a lunatic.

I quote:  ......"prescription drugs or organ transplants".....

I further quote:  "We can't allow our country to fund those things, let alone to allow them in the first place."

SHEER LUNACY.

"WE" (meaning "the government) should not "ALLOW" (meaning the government should outlaw and enforce) prescription drugs.....or "organ transplants"....might as well add transfusions and immunizations.

sure, what about them (0.00 / 0)
Bone setting, aenesthetics, endoscopy, surgery, medical supplies, doctors, and nurses, yes, I think those are non-controversial and most people would accept that their premiums pay for those, even if they don't use them themselves.

Immunizations and blood transfusions indeed are controversial, perhaps there should be a way to opt-out of paying for them, but they should still be available as part of the public plan.  Or, maybe those too should be only paid for by private supplemental insurance.

You don't like paying for boat ramps, I don't like paying for abortions.

And (0.00 / 0)
prescription drugs shouldn't even be allowed, eh lunatic?
