Charlie Baker's Complete Donation History

by: Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie

Wed Jul 08, 2009 at 13:10:36 PM EDT

Baker, Charles
49 Monument Avenue Swampscott, MA 01907
CEO Harvard Pilgrim

According to the Office of Campaign and Political Finance, Charlie Baker has donated $20,465.00 to state candidates in Massachusetts since 2002.  Most of these donations have been to Republicans including a $2,500 to the MassGOP in 2006.  He has never directly donated to the Democratic Party.

He has also donated to some members of the Democratic leadership including Therese Murray, John Rogers, and Tom Reilly.  As an important CEO of a company who does business with the state, this may have been to grease the wheels of the leadership.

In 2003, 2004, and 2005 he gave the legal maximum of $500 to both Romney and Healey.  He has never given to Patrick or Murray.

BAKER, CHARLES
SWAMPSCOTT,MA 01907 HARVARD PILGRIM HEALTH CARE/CEO

On the Federal side, according to OpenSecrets.org he has only donated to Republicans including $21,000 to the Republican State Committee of Massachusetts.  The MassGOP uses most of it's federal account to pay for expenses including salaries.  He has also donated to Ogonowski, Sprague, Torkildsen, and Bech for their congressional bids.  In 2008, he donated $2,000 to John McCain after the primary.

I think Peter Koutoujian was the House Chair of the Health Care Committee in 2004 (0.00 / 0)
So that donation to a Democrat makes sense in that it was probably related to his job.

Lees? (0.00 / 0)
Brian Lees retired in 2006, right? So why has Baker given him $700 since then (including 2006, when he wasn't running for re-election)?

Hampden Clerk of Courts (0.00 / 0)
Brian Lees is still an elected official, now in county government.

Bob Hedlund for Minority Leader.

He's Register of Deeds. (5.00 / 1)
But yeah, he's still in county government.

Eric Gittleman
Boston Ward 21 Republican Committee (Allston, Brighton, Fenway/Kenmore)

My views do not necessarily reflect those of the Ward 21 Republican Committee, the Boston Republican City Committee, or any officers or members thereof.

And.... (5.00 / 1)
...Baker never ran for Governor as an Independent whose only claim to fame during the race was to attack the GOP nominee Kerry Healey and took the heat off Deval. Now who does that remind me of again?
