Breaking: Jack E. Robinson Pulls Papers

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Fri Sep 11, 2009 at 15:24:27 PM EDT

Red Mass Group has learned that representatives of Duxbury resident Jack E. Robinson have pulled papers on his behalf.  A final decision on running has not yet been made.  Here is the text of the email:

Just wanted to let you know that early this afternoon my representatives "quietly" pulled papers for the Senate race.

This does not mean that I'm going to run, and it does not even mean that I'm going to attempt to get on the ballot -- which for any Republican is going to be extremely difficult.  Just means that I'm thinking seriously enough about it to spend the necessary time, effort & money to pull papers, fill them out, and see how many signatures we can collect this weekend before making a final decision next week.

As Andy Card said, nobody on our side should make plans, or stop making plans, as a result of this move.

I then sent an email to Mr. Robinson to confirm this information. Jack stated the following by email to me:

yes, collecting signatures as we speak...

Today is 9/11, not April 1st. (0.00 / 0)

Why could Curt Schilling have to be a Republican? (0.00 / 0)
This is why.  If Schilling ran as an independent you can't clear the field for him.  Someone is going to take that Republican nomination, and votes, away from him.  It makes the math of winning tough.

Yeah but... (0.00 / 0)
Its not as if a low turnout election is going to get TOO many Republicans to just come out and vote the party line, or to turn out for just "BLANK" (R).

When people are shovelling out in January to vote, I suspect its going to be deliberately for a candidate they've already selected.

In over 20 years of living there, I haven't yet seen Jack E. Robinson in Duxbury. (And believe me, he wouldn't be hard to spot there). Why do we continue to enable this guy?
