A radio debate between the two Republican candidates for US Senate is being rescheduled according to all parties involved. The debate between State Senator Scott Brown and Jack E. Robinson, originally scheduled for Thursday at 9:30am on WTKK on the Jim & Margery Show, was postponed due to equal time concerns from the Robinson campaign.
His campaign said in an email that they were not happy with a debate lasting only 30 minutes because the four Democratic candidates were offered an hour. "When WTKK told us they would only offer 30 minutes, we opted to keep our scheduled appearance with On The Record, so that we did not lose our opportunity to appear on a show that all of the other candidates have appeared on," wrote Alleigh Marre, press secretary for the Robinson campaign.
Felix Browne, the press secretary for the Brown campaign, said that they were fine with the 30 minute WTKK debate due to the short notice they had for scheduling. "We became aware of the postponement by listening to Jim & Margery and we're working together with their program director to reschedule the debate," said Browne. "We were happy with a half-hour debate because Scott's schedule is very full and it is difficult to find a free 60 minute block," said Browne.
WTKK program director Grace Blazer said, "We're still working on rebooking the candidates for a debate." When asked what the terms of the debate would be she said that it would be discussed with the rebooking. |
