Weekly Constitutional Office Money Watch Week 3

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Sun Nov 22, 2009 at 11:42:28 AM EST

This is the third weekly installment of the weekly constitutional office money watch.  Some things I learned this week:

1) There is not a requirement for depository candidates to report bi-monthly until 6 months before an election. Although some banks report it that way all the time.  This is why Charlie Baker only reports once a month.

2) The Mass GOP had a good take from their Romney Fundraiser, with the total of state and federal money raised being well over $200K.

Gubernatorial Race

Charlie Baker (R): $64,879 in one deposit.

Timothy Cahill (U): $0.00 in no deposits

Christy Mihos (R): $0.00 in no deposits

Deval Patrick (D): $38,750.10 in 12 deposits

The rest of the constitutional offices are after the jump...

Lieutenant Governor's Race

Timothy Murray (D): $0 in zero deposits

There are four rumored choices for the Republican Side.  Here are the cash on hand, and in Tim Cruz's case his weekly donation total.

Karyn Polito: $138,071.40 cash on hand as of 12/31/2008.

Richard Tisei: $99,0097.69 cash on hand as of 12/31/2008.

Brad Jones: $96,123.88 cash on hand as of 12/31/2008.

Tim Cruz: $103,408.52 cash on hand as of 10/31/2009 + $1,750 so far in deposits in November.

Attorney General's Race

Martha Coakley (D): $0 in zero deposits

Auditor's Race

Mary Connaughton (R): $0 in zero deposits

Joseph DeNucci (D): $0 in zero deposits

Guy Glodis (D):* $0 in zero deposits

Kamal Jain (U): $95.80 in one deposit

Earle Stroll: $0 in zero deposits

*Guy Glodis will be announcing shortly.

Treasurer's Race

Stephen Grossman (D): $28,995 in 14 deposits

Joe Connolly (D): Announced for treasurer early this month. He has $324,498.06 cash on hand as of 10/31/2009 and has raised $0.00 so far this month but raised over $30K last month.  He has approximately twice the amount of cash on hand that Steve Grossman does.

Secretary of State's Race

William Galvin (D): $9,300 was raised in three deposits by the prince of darkness.

Given open seats for Auditor, Treasure and probably AG... (0.00 / 0)
...this interesting public service you are providing may turn into an all consuming task involving more than a dozen campaigns...good luck.

Candidate Support (0.00 / 0)
As we head into the holiday season and the end of the year, it would be wonderful to see our statewide and local candidates actively soliciting on-line donations of all amounts.

How about a campaign to get conservative activists to give $20.10 of $201.00 for 2010?  This is the time to get contributions in for 2009 reporting and build a base for 2010.

I have received more fundraising requests from democrat candidates for a variety of offices.  We need to encourage our candidates to ask, via the web, on RMG, etc. as the answer is always "no" until the question is asked.

Never under estimate the power of the $10 contributions.

Adverstise here for as low as $60 per week.
