Poll: Brown Trails Coakley by 11%, Has Extremely High Favorables

by: chevyrox

( - promoted by Mike Rossettie (DD4RP))

A non-partisan poll obtained by The Weekly Standard shows Scott Brown doing surprisingly well considering the Democratic lean of the state. He trails AG Martha Coakley by 11 points, 50% to 39%. There is some good news for Brown. He has a favorability rating of +30, 56% favorable to 26% unfavorable. For those most likely to vote, the lead is described as a "low single digits margin for Coakley".

It didn't include Kennedy apparently. (0.00 / 0)

Thinking about it again. (0.00 / 0)
This is the Weekly Standard after all...  This poll of theirs is is probably bad news.  The Weekly Standard guys are as crooked and duplicitous as they come, and this "non-partisan" poll they obtained, if it even exists in reality, is the best they could do to massage things to Brown's advantage.  And it came to 11%.  I have a feeling the Rasmussen poll will be much worse, trailing by 15-20 points.

I'll take that bet (0.00 / 0)
Rasmussen does a very good job measuring turnout.  They screen for "Likey Voters" and not just "registered voters" ar "adults."  I doubt they will come back with a 20% margin.

I'll Take That Bet Too (0.00 / 0)

1. The likely voter screen employed by Rasmussen always narrows the race. Republicans are more likely to turnout than Dems.

2. Given that the election is in the dead of a New England winter, the real race is tighter.  rather than polling likely voters, the real race is for the absolutely, definitely going to vote no matter what voters.  That should have a more GOP-leaning composition.

3. Coakley is taking a beating in the press (the Boston herald picked up the Worcester Business Journal story).  We don't know when the Weekly Standard poll was taken but the mometum is in Brown's direction.

I say 10 points or less.

Why can't you be the blind cheerleader like everyone else around here?! (0.00 / 0)

Not 20%, just 9%.  I love it when you bash us for being right.

Bob Hedlund for Minority Leader.

Let me get this straight... (0.00 / 0)
A "private" unnamed polling company conducted a poll "last week" ie, the week between Christmas and New Years.

And you post this with a straight face?  Really the BS that is spread around here is unbelievable.  If I were posting this stuff, you folks would rightfully be mocking me constantly (and rightfully).

The posts around here reminds me of a baby who needs their blankie so they won't cry.  But in this case, the blankie are these comical posts.

There are many non-partisan polls media gets their hands on (0.00 / 0)
There have probably been dozens of polls done by people not associated with any of the candidates or parties that have not been released- there always are. When the media get their hands on them, they don't name them for obvious reasons. And yes, people do still answer phones during Christmas

Oh ya... (0.00 / 0)
You were also peddling the statewide/Cape Cod "poll" last week.  No offense, but you're trying way to hard with all this polling BS.

I even agreed that one did not mean much (0.00 / 0)
It was just all we had at the time.

[hidden comment] You agreed that it did not mean much... (0.00 / 2)
...care to share a link to back up that comment...?   Do you often post something and then say the post "did not mean much?".  Maybe that is the MO for many of the posters here.
