New Poll: American Research Group - Brown by 3

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Sat Jan 16, 2010 at 10:21:41 AM EST

The American Research Group has released a poll showing Scott Brown up by three points. With Martha Coakley only garnering 71% of the Democratic vote with 20% going to Brown.

Republican Scott Brown leads Democrat Martha Coakley 48% to 45% in the special Massachusetts US Senate race to replace Senator Ted Kennedy in a telephone survey conducted January 12-14 among 600 likely voters in Massachusetts saying they will definitely vote in the special election on January 19.

Brown leads Coakley 94% to 1% among registered Republicans and he leads 58% to 37% among unenrolled voters. Coakley leads Brown 71% to 20% among registered Democrats. A total of 8% of Democrats and 5% of Republicans remain undecided.

He wins in a poll that oversamples dems? (0.00 / 0)
Nice!

Baller status (0.00 / 0)
Hmmmm....nope I can't pull that one off, but I liked it so I thought I'd give it a try.

Anecdotal evidence has suggested time and again some of the DEM base has been breaking slightly for Brown.  There have been numerous reports of phone bankers reporting "I always vote (D), but I'm voting for Brown".  The are some SEIU members who have broken ranks, and many (U) who typically don't vote in primaries or special elections who are making this election a first...they're voting Brown.

Think about that..if Brown nets one in every 6 or 7 votes, it helps big time in a close...low-turnout election where (U) are breaking 2-1 for Brown.

Pat Boone for Scott Brown! (0.00 / 0)
OK, this probably means nothing to younger RMGers. Pat Boone was the second biggest music icon of my generation, the "nice guy" compared to the rebellious and controversial Elvis (my preference of course). I just got a robo call from him supporting Scott Brown.  Turns out he represents the 60+ Seniors Association, the conservative alternative to the AARP; this call must be reaching out to seniors. OMG this campaign is fun!

why do (0.00 / 0)
I get the feeling he was wearing a pair of white bucks on his feet when he recorded that call :) ?

nice endorsement for that demographic.
