The People's Victory

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Wed Jan 20, 2010 at 10:07:00 AM EST

A month ago they mocked you.  Three weeks ago you were a mild inconvenience. Two weeks ago you were a irritating rash. One week ago you became a migraine of epic proportions. Yesterday you reminded them it is you, not they, who are the master.  You are the people and this victory is yours.

A Long Time Coming. (5.00 / 1)
Ever since I've been able to vote, Ted Kennedy, Gerry Studds, Bill Delahunt, and John Forbes Kerry have been the only office holders from my area at the Federal level.

For my entire adult life, I've had no one to represent my views in Washington.

Now, finally, I do.

It's a good day.

Absolutely (0.00 / 0)
you said exactly what I have been saying for years.

Except I get to substitute Jim McGovern in place of Delahunt

As a liberal who spent years living in red states (4.00 / 1)
I understand your happiness.

I hope Scott Brown works hard for Massachusetts and the nation, especially our working people who desperately need a voice in these difficult times. I didn't vote for him but I'll give him the chance he's earned.

How's BU's football team doing? (0.00 / 0)
Only kidding! Don't have a dog in that fight.

"Martha Coakley took the wheel and drove Kennedy's seat off the bridge."

"6.1 tremor in Haiti; 8.5 tremor recorded in the Northeast."

"The result, it's what Teddy would have wanted.  To be dead."

"What a coincidence. The last good American Revolution started in MA too."

"The Dems will blame Coakley's campaign, and not their extremely, very, very, really bad ideas, which they still think are extremely very, very, really good ideas."

"I do think it's important to really beat the tar out of Mr. Brown.  There's no reason to give the GOP any more talking points about their resurgence, although I do hope that folks nationally dump money into Brown's race... might as well stimulate the local economy with money from across the country." circa here

"Too bad nobody had the forsight to wrap Ted Kennedy in copper wire before they put him away. His spinning could have powered the entire eastern seaboard."

"Obama endorsement. Kiss of death."

Go Tartans.  Seriously, go.

[hidden comment] The White Peoples Victory! (0.00 / 3)
Look at that. Barely even a suntan in sight!

And you were doing so well (0.00 / 0)
In your previous comment.  Is that really relevant to this discussion?  Which is more racist..to not be concerned with race...or to be so concerned it can be left out of the conversation.

Typical (0.00 / 0)
lib.....always breaking people down by their color.  WHy is it that liberals are so obsessed with the race of a person or people?  Hmmmm......?

There were people of color at Scott's victory party (0.00 / 0)
so stuff it with the race-baiting.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! (0.00 / 0)
I know that I personally spoke to, shook hands with & yes occasionally even celebratorily hugged a good many RMG posters last night but let me say that last night was an utterly surreal & historic night that still hasn't sunk in fully.

I spent the day nursing an ulcer as well, I'm the eternally paranoid pessimist on election day.  I brace for the worst, I expect the worst...and like in 2002 with Mitt Romney, once in awhile I'm elated & elevated into a euphoria beyond imagination.

Well, last night was one of those nights.  I didn't roll back into Dartmouth until about 2:30 am after celebrating all night!

It was amazing, watching the percentages come in, calling into my local town halls for the results, and - after giving some remarks to WBSM 1420 AM - I walked back into the hall JUST as they were placing the checkmark next to Scott Brown's name!  I dont think I've ever hugged so many people in my life!

Anyway, we've all got our stories from last night & I won't blather on too much longer except to say... CONGRATULATIONS US SENATOR-ELECT SCOTT BROWN!!!

And, even more importantly.... THANK YOU TO THE VOTERS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS FOR ELECTING SCOTT BROWN!

I should talk. I did two shots of grappa to calm my nerves before I went out to hold signs in the rain. Strongly recommended it worked wonders chasing out the butterflies from my stomach.

Scott speech last night (0.00 / 0)
I was disappointed! Who wrote that speech?

Thank you to the people of the Great State of Massachusetts! (0.00 / 0)
I am not from Massachusetts. I live in that other bastion of oppressive government, California. I joined this blog just so I could say thank you to the people of Massachusetts. Not only have you changed the balance of power in Washington, and hopefully killed Health-care reform, but you have given me hope that one day we may be able to break the strangle hold that liberals have had on this state, for lo these many years, as well. I was ready to give up on the whole political process but you all have shown me and the rest of the country, that the sleeping giant known as "The People" can be awakened to re-assert control over its own destiny. I pray to God that your enthusiasm will spread like wildfire through out this great nation and release us all from the shackles of the big government.

Just let me say, one more time,

Thank you to the people of the Great State of Massachusetts!
