by: Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie

Wed Jan 27, 2010 at 18:04:07 PM EST

(I finished this post from yesterday.  Enjoy. - promoted by Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie)

BREAKING NEWS....

Today Republican State Representative Richard Ross will announce that he will run for the open State Senate seat vacated by United States Senator Scott Brown (R - MA).

Richard Ross is in his 3rd term representing the 9th Norfolk formerly held by Scott Brown.  If he were to run for the Senate he would bring in the towns of Millis, Plainville, Norfolk and Wrentham for a total of 10 precincts out of 51.  His 2009 year end report with OCPF shows $14,205.41 cash on hand and no outstanding liabilities.  In 2008, Richard Ross defeated unenrolled challenger Thomas Roache by a 61% to 39% margin.  More information can be found on his campaign website VoteRoss.org or his facebook page.

The Norfolk, Bristol & Middlesex State Senate district includes "Franklin, precincts 2 to 4, inclusive, Millis, Needham, Norfolk, Plainville, Wellesley, precincts B, F and G, and Wrentham, in the county of Norfolk; Attleboro, wards 1 and 2, ward 3, precinct A, and North Attleborough, in the county of Bristol; and Natick, precincts 6, 7, 9 and 10, Sherborn and Wayland, in the county of Middlesex."  In 2008, Scott Brown defeated Democrat challenger Sara Orozco by a 59% to 41% margin.

What happens to the Rep seat ? (0.00 / 0)
Given the state calendar does this mean Ross is done for state  rep, he can't run this fall regardless of the outcome

Geographic middle towns could make the difference (0.00 / 0)
Assuming that State Rep. Lida Harkins (D-Needham) wins her primary, the smaller towns in the middle of the district could play a major factor.

I think the visability he has gained into more of the towns will help.  I don't think she's known any farther south than Needham.

Back and forth, like dental floss

Which way's he gonna vote, no one knows
He counts the 'ayes' then he counts the 'nos'

Chalk the seat up as a loss

...at least he's out of the House...

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

Flip flop could hurt (0.00 / 0)
He better not get tagged as DiMasi's little sock puppet. He cast 2 major votes in his career gay marriage and casinos. Both times he did what Sal told him to do !

Yuck (0.00 / 0)
Lida Harkins vs. Richard Ross....

Same to me...

I didn't make the press conference (0.00 / 0)
But I was sad when I learned Betty was not running.  I was ready to get on the phone and start dialing for dollars.

Did you catch the Brown coat-tail riding by Ross its almost as pitiful as Hudak.  Hey Ross, Scott never took away the vote from the people....think a lot of yourself don't you.
Your opinion doesn't count, only your constiuents
