Not to be an alarmist... (0.00 / 0)
...sure, without having heard the phone call or knowing the details behind it, this sounds terribly devastating to Christy Mihos and his gubernatorial campaign (btw - thanks Christy for posting in the open thread).

That said, as a supporter of Christy's opponent... I caution anyone on any side from reading too much or getting too excited about this action.

For example, before the last State Committee meeting I had a conversation with Joe Manzoli where he told me that he may leave the meeting, and driving several states away, at a moment's notice as his daughter was expecting.  Maybe, just maybe, Joe is taking time off for family reasons.  Those are "personal issues" after all.

If that's the case, then I hope that congratulations are in order to Joe.  I haven't spoken with him since.

Point is, neither the vultures nor the sharks should start circling just yet.  It's certainly intriguing info but I, for one, don't want to get too carried away until more is known.

According to the State House News Service... (0.00 / 0)
Republican gubernatorial underdog Christy Mihos's campaign manager, Joe Manzoli, has left the campaign, with disagreements over the split's terms between the candidate and staffer. "I've suspended my work on the campaign," Manzoli said Monday morning. Reached moments later, Mihos said, "Actually, he's resigned, and we're working everything out with Joe and moving forward." Manzoli said he is owed north of $40,000 by the campaign, and said he will stay away from the campaign "until we come to a resolution. Basically, it's for a number of reasons, personal and otherwise."

Mihos said he would compensate Manzoli, but was unsure of the amount owed: "I'll take a look at what it is, and we'll pay him and just move on." Mihos acknowledged financial difficulties, noting that he does not accept contributions from lobbyists. He said, "It's very difficult for an outsider that doesn't represent interests the way Charlie Baker does to raise money ...We're soldiering on. I'm not a quitter. We think we have the right message, certainly."
