Hudak claims Brown told him Healey was running

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Thu Mar 11, 2010 at 06:33:11 AM EST

Prior to Joe Sheehan posting that Kerry Healey was running for Congress, Bill Hudak told the same to the Salem Evening News. Claiming even that Scott Brown called him to give him a heads up on the news.

The former lieutenant governor from Beverly was seriously considering a run for Congress against Democrat John Tierney, according to Bill Hudak, her would-be opponent in a Republican primary.

"You heard it here first," Hudak said at the beginning of a meeting with The Salem News' editorial board.

The source for Hudak's scoop was Sen. Scott Brown.

The senator relayed the information during a phone conversation with Hudak on Monday, Hudak said.

"(Brown) said that he had heard that she was thinking of running and that she had done some polling and it looked favorable," Hudak said.

That was the basis for the rumor that I had heard at about the same time that Joe posted on Red Mass Group.  Did Brown call Hudak? We may never know as Brown's office declined comment.

Perfect example (0.00 / 0)
of how it is not will of the people. Now it is a race between someone new and an already owned political hack.
A chance of getting rid of Tierney and making another Massachusetts Miracle are now gone.

Bizarre (0.00 / 0)
Now I feel a tiny bit less embarrassed about this. Got very strange signals over this one, and still am. I'll confirm though that the primary source that I had was someone close to the Hudak campaign.

Brown calling Hudak??? Come on... (0.00 / 0)
So Senator Scott Brown is calling Bill Hudak to give him a heads up about Kerry Healey???
There is a reason some candidates are called "fringe".

Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom.

Brown would call him (0.00 / 0)
if he harbors a grudge against Healey.

Sure he would (0.00 / 0)
Scott Brown ran one of his district campaign office out of the Hudak Congressional campaign office.

Kerry Healey has already had a fundraiser for Hudak at her Beacon Hill condo.

I don't know if Scott Brown called or not.  I don't have the inside scoop.  However, this is not so implausible as to fail the smell test.

If only Kerry Healey Would Run (0.00 / 0)
we would have an intelligent GOP'er in the race.  Bill Hudak is an idiot.  If you want me to post reasons, I will.

Does Brown hold a grudge against Healey? (0.00 / 0)
Going back to her not picking him for her LG choice when she ran for Governor in 06 (turned out for the better for him) and rumors that she was not willing to "max out" on her donation early on for Brown, making it known she was skeptical if he could even come close

I got a call that Sheriff Frank Cousins told the RTC crowd in methuen Healey was running. (0.00 / 0)
