Deval Patrick: Common Man? NO! Coca-Cola Cash Cow Millionaire!

by: BNCordeiro

Wed Mar 17, 2010 at 11:43:48 AM EDT

Governor Deval Patrick is trying to go around acting as if he's just one of us... as if he's just the common man.  Sorry Governor but you're not the common man but you're the Coca-Cola millionaire!  Sure, you can go around attacking Charlie Baker (or Christy Mihos, for that matter) but remember the ol' saying about not throwing stones when you live in a glass house.

I don't begrudge anyone their salary, I'm not the jealous type, I don't engage in class warfare (unlike say, Gov. Patrick & the Democrats).  I do rage against hypocrisy and Deval Patrick, it's okay that you're a wealthy man but don't try to portray yourself as the common man.  Your money came from corporate resources just as others in the race.

Deval Patrick's actual Coca-Cola employment contract is found in a link below or at http://contracts.corporate.fin...

Here are a few quotes from MassBeacon.com.  They're referring to the MassGOP House Caucus blog, The Capitol View

It continues, "Governor Patrick and attack dog Tim's attacks on Charlie Baker have been hypocritical to say the least. According to the contract Deval Patrick actually made a comparable salary to his chief gubernatorial rival while serving as an executive to Coca-Cola."

Now, I might need a lawyer reader to properly interpret this thing for me so I don't have to gouge my eyes out, but what jumps out are me the following numbers (and remember this is from 2001. Patrick was elected Governor in 2006):

Base salary: $475,000
$1,000,000 signing bonus, with $500K paid on his first day and the rest paid on his first anniversary
Raises, bonuses, and annual incentives
Stock options that I am not even going to try and interpret
$2 million worth of restricted stock
Equity awards, expense account, retirement payments, etc. etc.

Governor Deval Patrick, you made your millions on a product that is linked to increase rates of obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, and general ill health.  Now you want to impose a sugar tax on such beverages.  Hypocrisy?

Gov. Patrick, you can take all the shots against Charlie Baker you want but wouldn't it be just as fair to claim that you got richer as our country, and our country's children, got fatter?

Wasn't he also on the board of some other company - one that forced people in foreclosures.. what was the name of that one again?

Don't forget about Deval being on the board (0.00 / 0)
of dirtbag mortgage lender Ameriquest. I'm sure he was compensated well as they were making billions off the housing/mortgage boom

Checkmate Cordeiro (0.00 / 0)
I sometimes think about arguments as a chess match...and everyone who writes on this blog knows where checkmate is.

So i'll just give a quick one here:

Cahill "to"...Tim the only common man in the race as he makes about 130,000 a year and knows what is like to have to think about college tuition, healthcare costs, and how he is going to put food on the table at night.

Baker shill's "to"...Cahill is a hack who has never worked a real job in his life and doesn't know the private sector or how to reduce the size of government.

Cahill "to"...untrue, Tim was a small business owner and as treasurer has reduced the amount of employees there, so that is disingenuous.

Baker shill's "to"...Cahill is a hack who has never worked a real job in his life and doesn't know the private sector or how to reduce the size of government!!!!!!!! >enter wilburwood who mentions how Cahill is toast, and needs to find a new line of work because Cahill is a former Dem-o-rat like Reagan...oh, and Baker raise over 500,000 last month<

Cahill "to"...to borrow a phrase from the Baker campaign "pahlezze"...while Charlie and Deval where picking out which frat's they were going to join at their ivy league schools, Timmy Cahill was working at a sears.

Cordiero to say at this point "sorry that dog don't hunt"

Baker Shill's "to"...Cahill is hack who has never worked a real job in his life and doesn't know the private sector or how to reduce the size of government PLUS Baker raised over 500,000 last month....

Look the point I am making is this: On the issues of the day...the ones that are going to put a conservative in the office, Cahill has the right ideas....Beyond that, Cahill has the ability to execute. Charlie is too thin skinned for the job (evidenced by not showing to the roast with the folks who his is looking to make his new office mates). The first time that Deleo smacks him around, and trust me, he will let Charlie know who is the head hen of the House, Charlie is going to take his toys and go home. Hell, even Mihos has engaged us in the face of some not so pleasant comments tossed his way on here. Charlie doesn't have the balls to debate conservative activist like me the same way Mihos has...What is Charlie going to do when he has to debate folks like Murry, Deleo and other members of leadership when the time comes. (pompous much Upsetter's...oh, pray for me folks)

If I could not go to Heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all. -Jefferson
