Un-elected MA Health Connector board members "censure" Cahill

by: South Shore Republican

Fri Mar 19, 2010 at 12:40:09 PM EDT

Two un-elected board members of the Massachusetts Healthcare Connector issued a censure directed at Massachusetts Treasurer Tim Cahill for blasting the Massachusetts Healthcare Reform measure and the national healthcare bill that has been modeled after it.

The members Nancy Turnbull and Celia Wsiclo (who by some strange coincidence also works for the purple-shirt political arm of Obama: SEIU) blasted Cahill with Turnbull saying "To the extent that he's trying to do damage to national reform, he's harming millions of people nationally, and he's also harming Massachusetts".

My question is this, why are these UN-ELECTED, appointed board members allowed to just spout off partisan criticisms? And also what right do they have to "censure" anyone as the Boston Globe story suggests? And heaven help us, but would we be looking at the national boards overseeing a potential Obamacare to be run by such similar political thugs?

Regardless of where you come down in the Governor's race, what do you think RedMassGroup? Should this tin pot SEIU tyrant be issuing denunciations because someone's speaking out against Obamacare? Check out the Globe story here

Hell, Joe - why are any of us on RMG able to do so either?

Because we all have the right to free speech and expression!

When Mary Connaughton let the public know about Turnpike abuses - where was your criticism? (I'd say Christy, too, but don't want the Baker Brigade trashing the thread)

BTW - ARE they elected SEIU thugs?  They DO hold elections.

Anybody can censure anything, Joe.  Thanks for the SEIU notification, so we can consider the source, but as board members, they almost have a DUTY to speak out, even if you don't agree with them.

Mary had a little more grace than to simply name call (0.00 / 0)
They went after Tim personally calling him "ignorant" instead of addressing his argument. I'd say they were put on the board to serve, not act as political operatives to hatchet job opponents.

He describes himself as "to the left of Barack Obama'' on social issues and is frustrated that more folks don't appreciate that. - Yvonne Abraham on Charlie Baker, The Boston Globe

Then your objection is to style, not substance. (5.00 / 1)
You asked if it was appropriate for them to comment as unelected people, not if they should do so politely.

They're DEMOCRATS - what do you expect, that they would offer a reasoned appraisal instead of pit-bull liberalism?

More Than That (0.00 / 0)
Whoever these people are, they are using their supposed "positions" to give unearned weight to their words. They are not commenting as Dick or Jane, garden variety shmucks. They are commenting as Mass Connector trustees, whatever the heck the qualifications for that were.
It may mean nothing to us, but it sure might sound impressive to the unobservant.

He's handsome...oh wait (2.67 / 3)
Ok sorry cheap shot, but that mug has to go...I beg the editors of RMG to please just remove that picture. UGH!

Anyway, on the issue of health care anyone else notice that the Baker canons have been particularly silent this week? I mean I got one "research brief" from MassGOP that was Hi-sterical in just how pathetic it was.

It seems to me that Charlie must have holla'ed at Nick Connors and told him, "Yo Dawg, healthcare executives are making it rain hundred dolla bills on me like I am a video ho in a Jay-Z video. I bet this Health Care business is going away so just let Tim Cahill run rough shod over our campaign for as long as this campaign is going on."

If I could not go to Heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all. -Jefferson

You beat me to it (0.00 / 0)
I was just thinking, that is the ugliest dude I ever saw in my life.

We should keep in mind that because they are un-elected hacks for the Admin, nobody really gives a crap what they said or what it was about.  Except the press of course cause they tried to fling some mud.  Typical for MA though, no substance.  Just he's ignorant which is ridiculous cause he's watching the money fly out the damn door.

I am wicked awesome!
