PPP: Romney Leads 2012 Field

by: Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie

Sun Mar 21, 2010 at 09:07:17 AM EDT

Mitt Romney Public Policy Polling:

Mitt Romney: 29%
Mike Huckabee: 24%
Sarah Palin: 23%
Ron Paul: 11%
Undecided: 9%
Other: 6%

The 4 candidates listed here were the only ones prompted.  The survey was conducted nationally among 614 self identified Republican primary voters.

Gotta Agree on THIS One! (0.00 / 0)
Of the candidates listed, I'm going to have to agree with the final result.  If the primary were today, I'd support our former governor, Mitt Romney for President.

No, more needs to be said! (0.00 / 0)
I'd suggest this editorial by House Minority Leader Brad Jones in regards to the differences between Romneycare & Obamacare which can be found in today's edition of the NY Daily News:

What Obamacare can learn from Romneycare: Massachusetts' plan makes far more sense

Partisans on both sides of Washington's health care debate point to the Massachusetts plan enacted in 2006 - some to defend Obamacare, some to attack it.

I know the Massachusetts health care reform plan well because I was there at the creation. It is different from ObamaCare in many important respects, and there are vital cautionary lessons it teaches us as we grapple with the problem of the uninsured nationally.

We did in fact get almost everyone insured. Nearly 98% of Massachusetts citizens now have health insurance, including those with pre-existing conditions. This has meant earlier treatment and better care. No one in Massachusetts needs fear that he or she will become uninsured if they lose or change jobs.

Summing up the major lessons for our current national debate: States can solve the problems of pre-existing conditions and the uninsured. There is no need for higher taxes, Medicare eliminations or for a federal power grab.

Please tell me that is a joke (5.00 / 1)
Reasons why the GOP is going down the tubes....

Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin garner 47% of the vote for president...

which means 47% of voters are certified idiots.

That Mark Sanford affair killed our best candidate.

What if Romney had won the last primary? (0.00 / 0)
Watching Obama demagoguing the healthcare issue yesterday, I wondered: if Mitt Romney instead of John McCain had won the Republican primary, would we have avoided this Obama presidency and saved the country?

Not according to Mitt Romney... (0.00 / 0)
..who said recently that if he had won the nomination, he would be know as the guy who lost to Obama.

Maybe he was just being kind.. (0.00 / 0)
to John McCain. Certainly he doesn't want to be unkind to McCain primary voters. I am still trying to figure out how much of the Obama vote was pro-spreading the wealth, pro-delusion about Obama, confusion in thinking Bush was on the ballot, or the latter two due to McCain not running a dynamic campaign. Which I guess brings up another question: who would Romney have chosen for VP, and how much would we have gained or lost from not having Sarah in the race. And, as asked, how dynamic would Romney have been at that time.
Forget my question. Obama's elections was probably destiny. leading to a revolution that was almost overdue.

As for the coming race, I think we can expect that the candidate will be the man of No Apology.

Which Mitt Romney? (4.00 / 1)
When I see a poll like that I am left confused.
Are we talking about the recent governor that we had, or are we talking about the conservative that ran for president in 2008?
Now I am hearing that a third Mitt Romney is appearing in various places espousingh future aspirations.

So which one of these is leading that poll or is it the composite model that is in front at the moment?

MITT THE RINO (0.00 / 0)
No more Rino's  Thanks for the great healthcare plan thats bankrupting our state Mitt.

Exactly! This state is sinking under uncontrollable costs and the (0.00 / 0)
Massachusetts Health Care plan is a big contributor to that.  Plus - what could be more UN-American than fining hard-working people for NOT buying health insurance because they made the conscious decision to self-insure.  I lived in this state for 5 years without health insurance because it was more cost-efficient for  me to pay for my health care myself.

On this issue I'm pro-choice....chose FREEDOM!

How about "none of the above"? (5.00 / 1)
The only one who has a legitimate chance of restoring the sustainable framework that the nation has been for most of its existence is Governor Gary Earl Johnson of New Mexico (Bill Richardson's predecessor).  He has an excellent political information organisation, the Our America Initiative.

There is one highlight of his policy positions: "You Cut Spending."  Heaven forbid anybody suggest that; that's why he was "America's Most Dangerous Politician."

For more on his economic plan, please view this video.

Save us, Gary Johnson; you're our only hope!
