Charlie Will Win-----Christy Mihos

by: Christy Mihos

Fri Apr 30, 2010 at 14:07:39 PM EDT

(Christy's fully on board. Are you.  It's time to get on the Baker Train. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

Charlie will win this Gubernatorial Election.  Its early, and many are all in a tither about the polling thus far.  Forget about it. It won't be so in the Fall.  People instictively like Charlie Baker and that's a huge plus for our candidate.  He is the only one in this race that can restore a sense of confidence and trust in the manner in which State Government works. That's what people want. Charlie does not have to get into the negative stuff that other campaigns have utilized as their calling card.  Let them do that, as its all they know.  Charlie will bring his positive, hands-on solutions to fixing the mess we're in. He won't blame the four Democrats he's running against and they're ALL Democrats. As for the independent thing, been there, done that---it won't work. Once our People get to know their next governor the polls won't matter; it won't be close.  So forget about the negative stuff and get to work on electing the only candidate in the race that will restore a sense of honor and trust to government and put us on the right track. That's what I'm doing each day and proudly so.

please don't (5.00 / 2)
R4---that's a vote for Deval Patrick.  That's not what you or I want.  I've seen Charlie in action and he gets it.  There is no margin for error going forward. Things are so damn bad on Main Street that we can't take a chance on another four years of failure.  For the good of our home State R4--and in the end that's all that matters---Vote Baker.

Charlie Baker hasn't earned my vote yet..... (0.00 / 0)
And Tisei may find it impossible to earn my vote given that he sponsored the Bathroom Bill.  That whole Bathroom Bill is just plain freakin' creepy.

Who are the third party candidates?

If you disagree with me you are a racist homophobe.

Kudos to Christy (0.00 / 0)
In contrast to the "blood-spattered" post by the Cahill folks, Christy's high road endorsement is quite classy.  Thank you Mr. Mihos and Godspeed!

Thanks Christie (0.00 / 0)
You put together an honorable campaign, and your convention speech was truly one for the record books. You knocked it out of the park!

Sadly I must disagree with you about Charlie Baker. I prefer Tim Cahill's record of fiscal restraint as treasurer over Charlie Baker's 147 million dollar bailout at HPHC. I prefer Tim Cahill's management acumen, where there are less employees today in the treasury then their were when he showed up back in 2002 over Charlie Baker's 200% increase in my premiums while his earnings went from mid to upper 6 figures to 1.7 million. Couple this with Tim Cahill's willingness to offer everyone a seat at the table to share there thoughts and opinions on how to move Massachusetts forward, whether you are a tea party loyalist, a Conservative Christie supporter, A Charlie Baker moderate, even a Richard Tisei liberal! That is the kind of leadership I feel we need in Massachusetts. When Charlie Baker kept you off the ballot, I thought that was telling of his leadership style. If you have a dissenting opinion from him, Charlie will silence you. If you believe that people who are of deep faith should be listened to, reached out to, and treated with respect, then I feel your candidate is Tim Cahill and Paul Loscocco. Tim has extended his hand to conservatives by picking a conservative frm. Republican. Charlie has balanced his ticket with someone even more radical than himself. I am sorry Christie, I supported you in the primary, but I am supporting Tim Cahill in the general election.

Again, thank you for your steadfast dedication to our commonwealth, and I wish you success in all your future endeavors.

Warmest Regards,
Upsetters Revue

Fiscal Restraint (0.00 / 0)
bwah hah hah hah.

Lets see.  I want $1,300,000 in renovations to my office building.  I don't have the money so I ask the landlord to do it.  The landlord says sure. But your rent will go up by $2.4M over five years.  That's a 28.9% interest rate. That's not fiscal restraint that's agreeing to usury.

thank you for your support (5.00 / 2)
Many, many thanks for your kind words and support---

Your choice on what you do with your vote---but I can tell you this.  As the weeks and months move on, watch the steady decline in polling for the independent.  I was in the same place 4 years ago, in the mid to high 20s.  But as the campaign moves forward, that will continue a steady decline.  I know all the candidates and have studied their positions, and actions.   My only interest here is the future of our home state.  I know Charlie to be an honest broker in what he does, and I like him personally.   please call me next week on my cell and I will gladly meet with you to discuss this.  Its too important and election to lose even one vote.  We need you UR---its every man and woman on deck as our future is in the balance.   Christy

Do you understand (0.00 / 0)
HPHC, is a business, it was Charlie's Job, to make money and grow the company. Would you criticize someone who owns a gas station, a walmart, or a giant law firm for making money, and growing the workforce, I don't think so. As a conservative Republican I believe in the right of companies to grow, I don't want government regulations and restrictions preventing them from growing, like OBAMA. You also called your self a Conservative, but yet you seem to be advocating for restrictions on Companies to make their own decisions i.e. raise premiums. I think you need to take off the blinders, and look beyond your Hate for Charlie and see what you are truly saying. You seem to be advocating for Obama policy, and would like to restrict what people can earn.

Wrong (5.00 / 2)
These are now almost quasi public agencies and I am LEGALLY REQUIRE TO PURCHASE THERE SERVICES!

You can not force someone to buy health insurance and then raise the price 200%! Did it get 200% more expensive to treat a cold? I don't think so. That is the difference. If I didn't need to buy his product, then he should feel free to charge whatever he feels like, but since I am mandated to buy from only a few carriers, then jacking the rate 200% is morally and ethically wrong.

Thanks for taking the bate.

Uh yeah (0.00 / 0)
it did get 200% more expensive to treat a cold. Because of the lack of tort reform doctors and other providers face ever increasing insurance costs of their own. And as for the mandates, well those came from the government not the insurers. Your beef is with the hacks who gave us the mandates, not only to purchase but what has to be covered as well. Everything driving the increased costs is government-made.

Why is President Obama's Justice Dept. running guns to Mexican drug cartels, and possibly MS-13 too?

where there are less employees today in the treasury then their were when he showed up back in 2002

Can you prove that somehow?

"We must all hang together, or surely we will hang separately." (5.00 / 1)
I probably mangled that quote, and I can't remember who said it right now - but that seems to sum up how I am feeling.  I agree that we would have been MUCH better off having a Republican Primary for Governor, but we don't.

So, let's more forward, together, from here.  Charlie Baker in the corner office is BY FAR a better choice than Deval.  I don't see Tim Cahill garnering the kind of support that would sweep the third-party candidate into office.

Face it - Like it or not, Richard Tisei will tap into a pool of voters that Charlie Baker simply cannot. I have come to know and respect a great number of openly gay, fiscally conservative REPUBLICAN activists, finally mobilizing for the good of the Commonwealth.  It's about time!  And if Richard Tisei is the reason they have "come out" as Republican fiscal conservatives, then I say BRAVO!

A three-way race is a scrap for each and every voter.  I was very displeased with the dirty tactics the Baker campaign pulled at convention.  Baker supporters were rude and boarish at convention...not all of them...but the bunch sitting behind me were a embarassement to the Baker campaign....but if Christy has moved on and thrown his support to Charlie Baker, should Christy supporters do less?

My apologies (0.00 / 0)

Christy

Over the past several months i have said many things about you, many of which i still believe, but after seeing your actions, words and attitude since the Convention i would like to apologize for the statement i made where i said i have no respect for you. You sir have gained a great deal of respect from myself, and many others. You have been a true leader, for our party, and hope you remain active in the fight to take back our state. I also think you should consider a run for other office, ie treasurer, secretary of state, state senator, US Senator (Against Kerry) or other positions in the future. God speed Christy, and again my apologies, i have a great deal of respect for you, i hope to see you in person out campaigning for Baker-Tisei

I concur (0.00 / 0)
Although I supported Charlie and had grave reservations about your return to the party, I must say since the convention you have been nothing but gracious and supportive of our nominee. Coupled with your support of the sales tax reduction ballot question and your donations to the state party to remove some debt you have earned my profound apology and respect. Do you have a law degree? Marcia needs to go after all. If not I hope you continue your activism and support of the taxpayers of the Commonwealth, as I'm sure you will.

to Uncle and TLC--a heartfelt thank you. (0.00 / 0)

Politics must not get personal.  We have a huge election in six months.  Unless Charlie and our candidates win, we will continue this power on stall to nowhere. That is unacceptable to anyone who cares about our future.  We must unite as never before to make sure our state comes through this.
Charlie and I are in lock-step in this race to get him elected.  I have offered to do whatever he needs to get him elected.   I know some of my supporters will not like this, yet Job ONE is in motion and that's all that matters.
For me politically, nothing else matter.  With Charlie in charge we can come through this and turn our state around so all can respect government once again.   Glad we're on the same team.  Christy

Christy, I hope your predictions are better than Barack Obama's predictions! :) (0.00 / 0)

I'm glad we're on the same team, too (0.00 / 0)
You've been a great political activist, Christy. It's a very different skill set from politician or elected officer, as Ross Perot, Jesse Ventura and others have learned. I think it's also more fun, but then I may be prejudiced in favor of political activists.

[ Parent ]
Skill sets (0.00 / 0)

Thanks Barbara---I am the world's worst politician.  Have learned time and time again that if you tell the truth, you can't get elected.  Being hard-wired as I believe you are, its just the way we operate.
I will work with you in doing all I can to get Charlie elected.  When we debated a few times his solutions were very similar to mine.   When People hear our candidate and get to know him as we do, this won't even be close.  He has the makings to become a great governor.  So now, lets get to work.

Mass Liberal comments on the recent water problem:

Expect a "stem-to-stern" review similar to the one that followed the ceiling collapse in the Central Artery Tunnel. And expect a renewed look at the role of the Weld administration and its administration and finance chief in the cost and quality of those projects. You know, a guy named Charlie Baker.

Primaries are important because sometimes the unexpected happens.

Christy Proved Me Wrong (0.00 / 0)
Christy ...

I'll be honest ... I firmly believed that if you did not make it out of the convention with the requisite 15%, you would spend the rest of the Spring, Summer, and early Fall lambasting and ripping Charlie Baker in a fashion reminiscent of 2006.

But you have pleasantly surprised me and I am glad you have proven me wrong. You have demonstrated that this race wasn't just about you, its about the cause.

Thank you for your respect and grace in defeat.

Sincerely,

S. Barracuda

P.S. Cahill is a hack.

The Cause (0.00 / 0)

It was always about the State of our State.  For most of our People--its not working.  It must always be about the Commonwealth.  Our party must become an equal force to the democrats.  Anything less and we will never recover and that would be a terrible waste.
