I dont want a token candidate to run against Martha.
I want someone who is better qualified than she is and who is independent enough to go after all of the public and Government Corruption we have witnessed. Enough.
In 10 days, Jim McKenna has accomplished more than many folks already running statewide. 100+ volunteers, 2600 Facebook Friends, Website, Twitter and instructions on how to vote for him on his website.
He has been all of the place.
Folks - this is the upset race of the decade. Jim McKenna will get on the ballot - and he will upset Martha. He's the real deal!
Or you can pass them out at the polls, remembering to stay 150 feet away from the door, as voters walk in wide circles to avoid you or insist on asking "who is this person and why didn't he just get on the ballot earlier?" so that ten more voters walk past you while you try to answer the questions.
Now I'll ask again: has anyone out there who is pushing this cockamamie idea of a sticker campaign for AG ever worked on a sticker campaign? Has anyone EVER gotten on a statewide ballot needing 10,000 stickers? If they tried, how close did they come? I know I'm the first to say that this year is different from other years, but that just means that the things that had only a small chance to work in the past have a good chance to work this year, if we all stay focused on the prize: saving Massachusetts, saving the country.
TWO guys running sticker for the same primary, however, is beyond ludicrous.
Then Thursday night I met Carbone at the Greater Marlborough Tea Party meeting. He's a hot shit and I was really impressed. I hadn't seen anything about him prior to this but he says he has been running since early June when he met with Nassour. I liked what he had to say and why he wants to be AG.
The dilemma is that now we have two people seeking write-in votes. As difficult as the task was before, there's no way we will have a candidate succeed if we aren't agreed on which one we are asking people to write in.

I mean it's difficult to justify the effort if it would divert any resources away from more viable campaigns but I'm not sure it would have to.
Right now, where I live there is only one reason for me to go to the polls on September 14, and that is to choose the candidate for auditor. Other places in the State people have some interesting choices for Congress. During the Brown campaign we were trying to gauge enthusiasm by comparing the primary vote totals in pro-Brown areas to pro-Coakely areas.
As far as Guy Carbone goes, he contacted me - and the vast majority if not the entirety of the State Committee - prior to the last meeting in June. Guy introduced himself, explained his reasons for candidacy, and noted that he would be unable to attend the upcoming meeting. He was seeking support for an endorsement vote in his favor, under the argument of needing it to obtain ballot access.
During the State Committee meeting there was a rather heated discussion & debate upon the merits of Mr. Carbone and his endorsement request. After 2 votes, the first by voice and the second by a show of hands, a motion to fulfill Mr. Carbone's request was denied.
Therefore, I knew of Mr. Carbone's AG sticker candidacy before I knew of Mr. McKenna's.
I'll hold my judgement until I meet them both, but I'm already leaning towards McKenna. We'll see.
And... its better late than never. It should be a crime to let Choakley run unopposed!!
And I seem to remember he was running for AG then.
Thanks for your support. The Jim McKenna campaign has accomplished quite a bit in its first week of operation and we have much more to do.

This very informative announcement is about as much more work he was willing to do to get elected. One sentence.
