MA-09 Congressional Preview w/ poll

by: Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie

Sun Sep 12, 2010 at 09:15:36 AM EDT

(If you area an unenrolled or conservative Democratic voter who is already going to pull a Demcorat ballot, please do the nation a favor and vote for Stephen Lynch over Mac D'Allessandro.  D'Allesandro is the most dangerous man running for Congress this year.  He is beholden to the SEIU and all they represent.  The nation would be worse off if he is a congressman. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

keith Lepor Vernon Harrison Massachusetts 9th congressional district has a PVI of D+11.  It is the 101st most Democratic district in the nation, and the 5th most Democratic district in Massachusetts.  In 2008, Incumbent Stephen Lynch (D) was unopposed.  This year Lynch is being challenged by KEITH P. LEPOR (R) VERNON M. HARRISON (R) and MACDONALD K. D'ALESSANDRO (D).

Vernon Harrison is a chief technologist in the computer industry and former small business owner.  According to the FEC, he has not raised any money.  More information is available on his website

Keith Lepor is an author, foreign and business development analyst, consultant, speaker and recently combat photojournalist.  He has raised $7,492 and has $4,575 cash on hand as of June 30.  More information is available on his website

Mac D'Alessandro has raised $271,976 and has $158,262 cash on hand.  Stephen Lynch has raised $738,586 this year and has $1,081,173 cash on hand.

Mike "DD4RP" Rossettie :: MA-09 Congressional Preview w/ poll
Recommendation:  Keith Lepor.

However, if you happen to be pulling a Democratic ballot, vote for Stephen Lynch.  Lynch is not a Conservative.  In 2009 he earned a whopping 4% rating from the American Conservative Union.  Yet 96% of the time isn't nearly good enough for those on the far left who dare to accuse us of being unwilling to compromise.  Still, Lynch has shown some independence from his party leadership and a willingness to vote his conscience.  Most recently, he has opposed Obamacare and bailouts.  For this, he deserves the nod over Mac D'Alessandro.

Primary Election Prediction:  Stephen Lynch (D), Keith Lepor (R).

General Election Prediction: Stephen Lynch (D).

Politically, Lynch actually fits the 9th district pretty well.  The South Boston Irish Democrat is, well, a South Boston Irish Democrat and everything that comes with it.  There are many Democrats from this area who would like to for for Democrats like Lynch, but are willing to defect to a Republican if the Dems put up a candidate they don't like (see Brown v. Coakley).

Stephen Lynch vs Keith Lepor (0.00 / 0)
Stephen Lynch has done a great job fooling the people into thinking that he is moderate.  He did vote against the health care bill, but in his own words, it was only because he was holding out for the public option.  He is Nancy Pelosi's floor whip and he votes with her 98% of the time, according to the Washington Post.

Keith is intelligent and insightful and willing to stand up for what he believes in.  His international experience makes him more qualified to be in Congress than most of the people in there now.

Lynch, on the other hand, is does not have enough backbone to even post his "issues" on his own campaign web page. It is still saying "coming soon".  He also carefully waits WEEKS before coming out on an issue-only after gauging which way the wind is blowing. He finally came out with his stance on the Ground Zero Mosque this past week, but for weeks before that, people who called in to his office were told that "Stevie" did not have a position yet.

He also voted for the original House version (0.00 / 0)
He had some issues with the Senate version.  He had no problem with government controlled medicine.
