(I forgot about Adam Wheeler. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)
The non-mainstream media has been relentless in exploring when and why Elizabeth Warren used her distant, if any, Native American heritage in her career advancement. Elizabeth Warren has failed to offer a substantial argument for what she did and appears to be more concerned with righting her campaign than answering the important questions posed by the voters of Massachusetts.
Her campaign Manager is now asking for the media to 'return to the issues that matter', which is a nice way of saying 'don't ask about this embarrassing issue anymore - please!' So the liberal media has acquiesced and is now trying to push the ball into US Senator Scott Brown's court by asking him about Warren's problems. In other words, they are trying to set him up as the bully. More of that war-on-women thing.
At any rate, while we wait for a reasonable explanation of why a University Professor who is 1/32nd Native American felt compelled to describe herself as a minority in order to get invited to lunch with other 1/32nders we should ask ourselves another question - what was Harvard's role in all this?
Harvard has admitted that it touted Elizabeth Warren as a Native American even though they refuse to say whether she is the lone Native American still amongst their ranks today.
Harvard did this to try and impress upon the growing academic community just how progressive and wonderful they are. They embrace diversity in all its many forms.
But they have a problem. Not long ago a Harvard student named Adam Wheeler was expelled from Harvard University for lying on his application for admission and seemingly every other required form of paperwork needed to attend Harvard. The Harvard Faker, as he is known, was convicted for his actions which resulted in his gain of $45,000 worth of education from the prestigious University. Wheeler was sentenced to a year in prison. Harvard maintained that the charges were levied in order to maintain their reputation as a world class University. Harvard should be beyond reproach.

The House version of payment reform creates a new mega agency, the Division of Health Care Cost and Quality. To be fair, the House collapses a few other state agencies into the new Division, but there is no question this entity is given far-reaching and broad regulatory power. The Division will be independent and "not subject to the supervision and control of any other" public entity. (Section 29, subsection 2(a))
The controversial federal Affordable Care Act drew negative attention for how many times the Secretary of HHS was instructed to act on major policy, roughly 700 times in 2,700 pages.
The House's bill outdoes the ACA by requiring the division to take action 163 times in 178 pages, or almost once every page. The mandate approach results in 941 instances in which the House mandates action in the bill, by using the word "shall."
Longtime Democratic party supporter and founder of Boston Properties, who owns the Prudential Center, Mort Zuckerman has come out strongly against Obamacare. He said on a conference call last week that it is killing job creation. The Boston Business Journal has the story.
In a conference call with analysts, Zuckerman said about 50 percent of employers - especially the six million small- and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. - are hiring part-time workers to avoid the costs associated with Obama's health care overhaul. "They are concerned over the possibility of benefit programs, particularly health care, that really inhibits them from hiring people," he said. "They want to avoid that kind of benefit and they are being very, very careful about hiring."
Zuckerman said the Supreme Court will gut Obama's health care law. "If I had to bet, I'd say it will be rejected by a 5-4 vote that will take a lot of pressure off the business community," he said.
Federal insurance legislation signed in 2010 includes employer and individual mandates to take effect in 2014, but it has been challenged in federal courts and most recently before the Supreme Court. The law's opponents argue that Congress overstepped its constitutional authority by requiring residents to obtain coverage. The administration says the mandate is permissible because it serves to regulate interstate commerce. A decision is expected in late June.
Who knew, adding onerous regulations in the midst of a recession seemed like a good thing, right?
Yesterday the Boston Globereported that the Gaming Commission did not take serious allegations, which were settled in civil court, of sexual abuse against their new executive director into account when hiring. Representative Jim Lyons, a long outspoken critic of expanded gaming, has called for Gaming Commissioner Crosby's resignation over this oversight.
Lyons sent out the following press release.
State Representative Jim Lyons of Andover is calling for the resignation of state gambling czar Stephen Crosby. "Recent reports," Lyons said, "cast a disturbing shadow over the hiring practices at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. Stephen Crosby, the Commission Chairman, made no effort to investigate serious allegations regarding his choice for a six-figure appointment.
"This kind of lax oversight," Lyons continued, "is completely unacceptable in such a sensitive position."
Lyons called on Crosby to step down immediately from his $150,000.00 per year government post. Lyons further cautioned against hiring another Beacon Hill insider to the the Gaming Commission. "An appointment of this significance," Lyons noted, "must be someone who is a completely qualified professional. Additionally, the Chair must not carry any political baggage through longstanding ties to either political party.
"Haven't we," Lyons asked, "had enough of political patronage and cronyism in state government?"
To my dismay, I am hearing rumors that certain leaders within my very own Political Party are contemplating how to procedurally nullify a legitimate vote that occurred within our own party caucuses just a few short weeks ago.
Let me first remind members of our party that one of the most troubling aspects of the 2010 Jim McKenna write-in campaign for Attorney General was uncovering the fact the dozens of officials across the Commonwealth intentionally did not count and/ or literally threw out thousands of votes that were cast for McKenna. All of the defendants are Democrats. A suit is now pending in Court.
So my question is simple: Are we, as a Political Party and Americans, not better than this?
To think this is an attempt by Ron Paul to upset or embarrass Mitt Romney is naïve. The issue has to do with the much larger macro issue not only facing our very own party... but the country itself.
The United States is on a path to internal disintegration, both morally and financially, caused by the rot of corruption, selfishness and the attack on the basic dignities of mankind... Life... Liberty... Personal Responsibility.
I am a Republican. A party born out of a time of discourse and division. We are the party that kept this nation alive and together... who gave the power of the vote to women and blacks.
We are a Party who believes in the dignity of man, the value of hard work and that the cornerstone of our nation are Individuals who take responsibility for their actions, their lives and their families.
We do not silence our critics... we do not deny them their rights. We do not deny them their votes.
Liberty Slate Individuals such as Ron Crochetiere from Springfield and Brad Wyatt from Worcester have carried the Republican Banner longer than many of you have been alive. They love this country... They love Liberty. They are Republicans and they earned the vote.
To try and take any delegate seats away from them would be an unforgiveable act of dishonor.
Do the right thing... Honor the results of the caucus.
Sincerely
John Briare

(Brock, please post a summary of all challenges when you receive them. Openness and transparency should be a hallmark of this process. As to actual challenges we will see. But as to what Paul has reported, I am 100% sure that the Romney team contacted non-winning delegates to ask for support for challenges based on 5.2. Now whether they pursue those challenges is another thing completely. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)
Here's a quick fact on the rumored challenges to challenges to delegates elected recently at the statewide caucuses:
There are PLENTY of rumors about Ron Paul/Liberty Slate members being targetted - either using a shotgun or sniper approach via Rule 5.2.
Here are two facts: I serve on the Delegate Allocation Committee and I HAVE NOT BEEN PRESENTED WITH ANY CHALLENGES or official news thereof.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong and certaily not a liar about the challenge rumor but I'm simply stressing that as someone who sits on the committee that will determine the actual challeges, the deadline for challenges was Friday and I have not officially been presented with a single one. As such, I'm skeptical of any claims of any activity and simply caution everyone to take a deep breath and let the cards be laid down upon the table before we all get too deep into spreading rumors or getting too whipped up with unjust concern.
I assume that there will be challenges, there were various ones in 2008 when I served on the same committee. At the end of our work then, no challenges for previous candidate support were upheld.
Could challenges based upon Rule 5.2 be sustained nowadays, yes it's possible. It's a rule and it all depends on why the challenge was made, the applicability and legitimacy of the challenge and the evidence presented. Rule 5.2 received a healthy deliberation during the Rules Committee meeting in September 2011. I served upon that committee as well so I clearly understand the "framer's intent" in that instance. It wasn't for the mass expulsion of any slate. It was an individual, not group, remedy. But yes, it was a remedy for what turns out to be team Romney (as no other candidate received the minimum threshold of 15% back at March's Presidential Primary).
That said I'm going into our Delegate Allocation Committee meeting(s) with an open mind without prejuding anyone or slate. I participated and observed the 9th Congressional district caucus and there were fine candidates, and their supporters, on both sides.
My biggest gripe is that we perpetually talk about sides and groups rather than a single Massachusetts Republican Party. It's well, well past time to stop fighting amongst ourselves and focusing on politically defeating the Democrats.
Interesting story out of Nevada related to the goings on with our own Convention Delegation.
The RNC has sent a letter to the Nevada GOP informing them to make sure that Ron Paul supporters don't get a disproportionate share of the Delegation, or else they could risk not even being seated at the Tampa Convention.
From the Las Vegas Sun's John Ralston:
In a letter delivered Wednesday to GOP Chairman Michael McDonald, the RNC's chief counsel said if Ron Paul delegates are allowed to take too many slots for the national convention, Nevada's entire contingent may not be seated in Tampa.
John R. Phillippe Jr. said that while his letter is not binding, "I believe it is highly likely that any committee with jurisdiction over the matter would find improper any change to the election, selection, allocation, or binding of delegates, thus jeopardizing the seating of Nevada's entire delegation to the National Convention."
Clearly, the RNC fears that mischief at the Sparks convention this weekend could result in Ron Paul delegates taking Mitt Romney slots and then not abiding by GOP rules to vote for the presumptive nominee on the first ballot in Tampa. So they are trying to force McDonald to ensure that actual Romney delegates fill 20 of the 28 national convention slots, thus removing any mystery of who they will vote for.
This could be even more fun on Saturday because - and I may be wrong - I don't think these Paul folks respect authority too much. And now the new chairman, who is close to some of the Paul folks, has to be the enforcer.
As it turns out, the Paul Campaign was as successful yesterday in subverting the will of the voters in Nevada as they were here in Massachusetts last saturday.

Redmassgroup.com has confirmed that the Romney Campaign will be invoking Rule 5.2 of the MassGOP "Plan for the Selection of Delegates" to the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida by choosing to "not certify" delegates elected at last Saturdays caucuses under the "Ronald Reagan Unity Liberty Slate" banner.
Emails have been sent to Romney Slate Delegates, many of whom finished in 4th, 5th, and 6th place for one of three delegate slots, informing them that the Romney Campaign would challenge Liberty Slate Delegates, and to be prepared to serve as Delegates in their stead.
Further, RMG has learned that Allocation Committee member, and veteran State Committeewoman Nancy Luther has resigned her spot on the Allocation Committee, and been replaced by State Committee member Matthew Sisk.
Publisher's note: Luther has resigned, Sisk has told Red Mass Group he will not be serving on the allocation committee.
Most observers have interpreted this an effort to ensure that any non-certification of the Liberty Slate Delegates will be upheld by the Allocation Committee upon appeal.
I think this may be the most eerie testament to the moderate leftist worldview that I've yet seen. In the end, it comes off like a drug, like a pusher trying to hook kids into dependence. Can't you see all of the free stuff that you will NEED in order to survive throughout your life? Come on, just a little taste, that sick feeling goes away in time.
Many commenters in the blogosphere and on twitter are excoriating and/or mocking this latest Obama gaffe, which as of this writing is still posted on barackobama.com. With the gaffes coming fast and thick from high profile Dems, it really makes one wonder: is it simply the honest exposition of the leftist worldview which constitutes an embarrassment? They have worked so hard for years to conceal their true beliefs behind speech codes and sob stories, but when you get a clear view of it, it can be pretty damn ugly. America, this aint.
I find an additional irony in the slides: many of the programs touted therein are either mostly or utterly worthless. For example the very first freebie, Headstart, has never been shown to do any long term good in any study, despite endless increases in funding.
However, the advantages children gained during their Head Start and age 4 yearsst yielded only a few statistically significant differences in outcomes at the end of 1 grade for the sample as a whole. Impacts at the end of kindergarten were scattered and are mentioned below only when they appear to be related to the 1st grade impacts.
Furthermore, much the Julia story is cynical fantasy which is contradicted by reality:
Her high school is part of the Race to the Top program, implemented by President Obama. Their new college- and career-ready standards mean Julia can take the classes she needs to do well.
I mean, are you frickin kidding me? Since when did Dems and their teacher union allies ever make an inch of improvement for school kids? Never, thats when. (And that despite endlessly multiplying budgets and salaries.) Or maybe when they finally got beat on the charter schools issue and had to stop blocking it everywhere? Would that count? Nothing illustrates the base corruption of the Democrats more than their alliance with teachers unions, the single most destructive force in American education:
