Elizabeth Warren, woman of color...

by: Vote3rdpartynow

Wed May 16, 2012 at 11:56:38 AM EDT

1997 Fordham Law Review article: Elizabeth Warren was Harvard's 'first woman of color'.

The story by Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin.

The title of the piece, by Laura Padilla, was "Intersectionality and positionality: Situating women of color in the affirmative action dialogue."

"There are few women of color who hold important positions in the academy, Fortune 500 companies, or other prominent fields or industries," the piece says. "This is not inconsequential. Diversifying these arenas, in part by adding qualified women of color to their ranks, remains important for many reasons. For one, there are scant women of color as role models. In my three years at Stanford Law School, there were no professors who were women of color. Harvard Law School hired its first woman of color, Elizabeth Warren, in 1995."

So George Zimmerman is white, Barack Obama is gay, Elizabeth Warren is a woman of color.  I am so damned confused.....

RRRR do you remember this?............ (5.00 / 1)
Several months ago Scott Brown supported the Blunt Amendment, which was a moral objection to forcing religious institutions from providing contraceptive and (religiously) distasteful reproductive services to patients.  Elizabeth Warren made the following statement which is on her campaign website to this day.

This weekend, you received a letter from Patrick Kennedy, asking you to stop distorting his father's record on health care to support the Blunt Amendment.........We ask that you respect the Kennedy family's wishes and stop invoking Senator Kennedy's name.

Elizabeth Warren was so incensed that Scott Brown would dare to speak for Ted Kennedy and claim to represent his cause.  Yet here we are with Elizabeth Warren claiming to speak on behalf of the Cherokee people, even though REAL Cherokee citizens have asked her to stop.  Read this letter from a REAL Cherokee citizen asking for Warren to stop making claims of Native American ancestry.

Well now Elizabeth Warren we ask YOU to stop distorting your own record regarding some imaginary Native American ancestry and we ask YOU to respect the Cherokee wishes and stop invoking the claim to Cherokee heritage.  Either produce a single shred of evidence to show you have native American blood (even one drop!) or apologize.

Ed Markey is now the official 'cheapest' man on earth.  1.5 percent to charity while the average American gave 3 times as much...

I like these parts in the letter: (0.00 / 0)
I am writing this letter in the hope it will help end the current situation you have found yourself in. It seems you are being ripped apart in the media because of your claim of Cherokee ancestry and you don't like it. According to a recent article in the Boston Globe, you believe your opponent is "creating a distraction" by "ridiculously" attacking you "with questions that have already been answered." It seems you would like the "attacks" against your claims of Cherokee ancestry to stop so I thought I would offer some advice on how to make it stop.

Tell the truth.

Are we supposed to believe an elite lawyer knows nothing about the burden of proof? According to Lawyers.com, the burden of proof is the responsibility of producing sufficient evidence in support of a fact or issue and favorably persuading the trier of fact. Well, Ms. Warren, you should know that you are not doing a very good job of supporting your claim or persuading anyone to believe what you say. This is starting to make us question your ability as a legal mind! And that makes us question whether you really got your job at Harvard on your own merits or whether you climbed on the backs of the Cherokee people in order to further your career.

You have claimed something you had no right to claim -- our history and our heritage and our identity. Those things belong to us, and us alone. These are not things we choose to embrace when they benefit us and then cast aside when we no longer need them, but that is what you seem to have done by "checking a box" for several years and then no longer "checking" it more recently, when apparently you no longer needed it.

We also don't appreciate knowing you might have used us to give your career a leg up over the competition when you were hired at Harvard. It is time you offer us some proof showing you did not do that. Until then, we have no alternative but to suspect you are not being honest about how you got that job. It is unfortunate that you might have not had enough confidence in your abilities to depend on them to carry you and therefore, felt you had to lie and invent a Native American identity to get ahead in the world. Sad, sad, sad.

Lily white IS a color.

I love the dodges provided by the insane left, but this woman received professional advancement in a time of hyper-diversity by claiming something not true.....and got caught.
She didn't do anything that anyone voting for her would not do.
I'm gonna start claiming Sioux heritage.....there's all kind of families folklore about someone generations back being 100% Sioux...wonder how far the claim will take me.
