Please educate me!

Watching the news, and the President is having a dinner and 25 people paid $40k each to attend.  How is this legal.  Don't the campaign finance laws apply.

Please someone tell me how to do this!

Hi!

The money gets divided up and spread around to his primary campaign, his general election campaign, the Democratic party, state party organizations (sometimes) and super PACs. Sometimes other organizations (like GOTV-oriented ones) get a cut.

how does 40K become legal (0.00 / 0)
What is the limit you can donate to a PAC.  This just seems sooo wrong.  So if I have a fund raiser and people cap out with my candidate, then I can start a PAC and take the money and then do as much in kind donations as possible?  

Some how this just seems wrong!
