4. Alleged Henriquez victim's mother says not the first time
The mother of Dorchester Democratic State Representative Carlos Henriquez's victim said that Sunday morning's alleged incident was not the first time. Channel 5 has the story.
Gonzalves mother said she warned her daughter to stay away from him.
"He's very mean, the way he treated Kathy before, the way he talked to her," she said.
The police report shows Gonzalves, who had dated Henriquez, told officials he was upset because she wanted to stay at home.
Her mother said she heard her yelling and ran outside.
"She was screaming, she was saying like 'Get out of here,' she was screaming. So that's why I ran (after the car)," her mother said.
5. We're number 28!
For the past four years the Patrick administration has used the CNBC rankings of "business friendly states" to highlight our competitiveness. Critics have stated that the metric relied too heavily on the number of college graduates available for work. This year the Commonwealth dropped from 6th place to 28th. Perhaps reflecting that, as Andrew Sum of Northeastern University says there is no correlation between job growth and the educational attainment of a state's workforce. Texas tops the list.
