Go Local Worcester, gives ProgressMass, the Colorado Based astroturf outfit, a critical eye. Focusing on what, and who exactly they are as an outfit in a featured story.
The communications director for the progressive non-profit group ProgressMass said the communications hub comes from local roots even if it has yet to register with the State of Massachusetts.
This is of course the same answer that ProgressMass gave in June of 2012 to RedMassGroup.
"The reason they're not registering in Massachusetts is that they're not going to be here on November 7," Eno said.
Currently, ProgressMass operates as a state affiliate of the national progressive non-profit ProgressNow.
While Helman said filing procedures were underway, it was not clear whether the registration of ProgressMass with the Massachusetts Secretary of State will be complete before Election Day.
In the article Helman goes on to profess his Massachusetts bonafides, never once discussing how his three full time employee operation gets it's funding.
Helman said ProgressMass, which employs himself as well as Executive Director Michael Fogelberg and New Media Manager Kevin Clang, was issued a taxpayer identification number and files its payroll through the Internal Revenue Service.
The kicker however is Helman's whining about why they focus exclusively on Scott Brown.
"I've probably attacked Republicans more than they have, aside from Scott Brown," said Eno, who believes ProgressMass is a one-shot outfit dedicated to opposing Brown's re-election efforts.
According to Helman, the focus on Brown is as much a product of limited resources as anything else.
"I think that's more a result of us being a relatively small shop," he said. "We're just getting started."

| Just a small shop? Cry me a glacially carved Massachusetts River. ProgressMass has three full time employees. Two of which are dedicated exclusively to communications and they can't find the time to attack anyone but Scott Brown due to "limited resources?"
Let's take a look at their work output, shall we? According to their website, ProgressMass has a very limited work output. During the month of August, the three man full time shop has generated eight blog posts, and two press releases. All, of course, are about Scott Brown. They've also cross-posted their work on Blue Mass Group, and written a few op-ed's/letter's to the editor. That's it, for a full time shop.
Contrast that to what I've done here at Red Mass Group as a part time, essentially hobby, while holding down a full time job.
In August alone, I've written over 60 blog posts, kept the site relatively free of spam, had at least five media appearances, composed a daily email, and worked another, unrelated full time job. Those blog posts have ranged the gambit from being about Scott Brown to attacking GOP leadership.
The truth remains, ProgressMass is a part of the George Soros coordinated attack on Scott Brown. It is a multi-pronged attack of which ProgressMass is one prong. They are not going to be around after November 7, 2012. And they've done nothing to prove otherwise. |
