To me, the Elizabeth Warren and Travelers Insurance arrangement... (0.00 / 0)

was rather clear.  Travelers Insurance hired Elizabeth Warren to argue before the Supreme Court that by establishing a $500 million trust it had removed Travelers Insurance from any further liability of lawsuit.  

This was a double edged sword!  One one side it protected the victims by establishing a trust that would be there should the company go bankrupt, which it eventually did.  BUT, on the other side of the blade it limited the company's liability - even if in the long term it was responsible for $1 billion worth of medical costs and victim losses.  The immunity clause was there to protect from future lawsuits, which had already been in the works.

Warren CAN argue that she was helping the victims, but Brown CAN also argue that she prevented many from getting the help they needed and furthermore that she got paid many times the amount given to individual victims...Neither is lying and neither is telling the while truth.

What it does not do is establish Elizabeth Warren as the 'fierce advocate for the middle class' that she and her followers are implying.  Elizabeth Warren did this purely for the paycheck of $212,000.  Let's not fool ourselves into thinking she did this for the 'little' people.  She did this for a 6 figure paycheck which she could have refused.  

We are headed for a 'Fiscal Cliff' and the country just elected a dope whose motto is 'Forward'.

that she is a 'Bankruptcy Lawyer' and is hired by corporations to keep the corporations from going bankrupt.  She is not a victims advocate and does not teach or practice law dealing with such things.  

Her principle focus is working for the coporation to keep it from going bankrupt.  Anything and everything else is secondary....even victims of asbestos related diseases...

or rather, for bankruptcy to be a stronger shield against people wanting money. She is a bankruptcy expert to help single moms like herself maintain their lifestyles after divorce, and the principles that protect divorcing moms (aka consumers) are at stake whenever bankruptcy protection is weakened. That's why she opposed the big federal bankruptcy reform that was enacted to stop abuse.
