Five Things you should know today, October 17, 2012

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Wed Oct 17, 2012 at 07:42:12 AM EDT

1. David Kravitz still silent

David Kravitz is still silent on Elizabeth Warren's practice of law without a license in Massachusetts.

2. Brown launches "Keep the Promise" tour, highlighting Obama's cuts to Medicare

Elizabeth Warren is a wholehearted supporter of Obamacare.  Including the part that cuts Medicare by over $700K.  Scott Brown begins a tour of senior centers to let them know about this today.  The first stop is at the Taunton Nursing Home this morning.

3. Obama Lied on Rose Garden and Terror

While using the word terror in his remarks in the Rose Garden, the President did not say the attack was an act of terror.  The words act of terror and terrorist act are legal words that have specific meeting. Forextv.com has the transcript and explination.

In tonight's presidential debate President Obama maintains that he called the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi a "act of terror", which turns out to be accurate.  However, the President is using a play on words.  The full transcript below supports that assertion, which the moderator, Candy Crowley vehemently confirmed the President did do.  However, the legal term of "act of terrorism" is never used.  Furthermore, the President clearly implies the attack was a result of the reaction to an anti-Muslim film released on YouTube in the transcript the Whitehouse released with the video below.

Candy Crowley should be ashamed of herself. And more importantly so should the President.

4. Luntz focus group not buying Obama lies

A Frank Luntz focus group, made up of mostly former Obama voters, is not buying the President's lies for a second time.  Real Clear Politics has the story:

A Frank Luntz focus group made up mostly of former Obama voters say they now support Mitt Romney.

"Forceful, compassionate, presidential," one participant said.
"Confident and realistic," said another.
"Presidential," another told Luntz.
"Enthusiastic," another reacted.
"Our next president," one man said.
"Dynamo, winner," said one more.

"He's lied about everything. He lied to get elected in 2008, that's why I voted for him. I bought his bull. And he's lied about everything, he hasn't come through on anything. And he's been bullshitting the public," one member of the focus group said.

5. Unions do fine workers for not politicking.

Rob Gray moves up to the network from Fox 25.  Here he's talking about Warren and Unions.

You should be asjamed of yourself, Rob (0.00 / 1)
In saying that "no act of terror" would go unpunished, Obama clearly labeled the events in Benghazi as an act of terror.  Pathetic attempts to spin it otherwise is just unpatriotic hackery.

Ashamed (0.00 / 0)
Any act of violence is an "act of terror" particularly when viewed from the point of the victim. However, an "act of terror" is not necessarily "terrorism" as we refer to it in the Middle East. Furthermore, we know that neither the President nor members of his administration  called the attack that caused the death of four Americans on 9/11/12 an act of terrorism in the weeks following the event. They repeatedly referred to it as an attack as a result of a "despicable video" or utube or movie. (take your pick.)
What is unpatriotic is 1. not giving proper security to the embassy when they pleaded for it.  2. lying to the American people about what really happened when intelligence and state watched on cameras in real time  and 3. covering up for weeks after the event.

Spin spin spin (0.00 / 1)
1.)  Which party voted to cut funds for embassy security?  The Republican Party.

2.) No one lied about the attack, but Mitt Romney did try to play politics with it while American bodies were still warm - despicable.

3.)  No one covered anything up, and your pathetic attempts to spin it otherwise are just that - pathetic.

pathetic attempt (0.00 / 0)
The facts are the facts. Liberals fall back on ad hominem attacks when the facts are not on their side: "No one covered up anything".  Uuuummmm, the facts are not on their side; therefore, "pathetic attempt".

Readers want to read something they did not know before. That is why it is better that you should relevant research before writing. You will be able to write better post this way.

assjammed? (0.00 / 0)
You should be ashamed of yourself for being a mouth-breather, John. You clearly cannot spell or recognize that spell check is telling you that assjamming is not an everyday word. It's what the terrorists did to the corpses of their victims in Benghazi if you recall.

And considering that you cannot spell, how is it conceivable that you can understand spoken or written words, which are sometimes called facts?

The transcript is available. Why not read it and try to understand it before you call anyone pathetic or unpatriotic? Now that's not exactly the way you phrased it but since you did not "clearly" define what or whom you were writing about, one can only speculate that since your response was directed to Rob that you were calling him a pathetic, unpatriotic hack.

Do I have that correct or will you just crawl back under your rock and keep to yourself, Mr. Patriotic Spin Nazi?

Point of information. (0.00 / 0)
Spell check does not function in the subject box. I don't know why that is, but I would consider "asjamed" to be a routine typo.

However, your assessment of the comment is spot on.

You should be ashamed of yourself, John (0.00 / 0)
...for your lack of comprehension skills.

The mention of "no act of terror" was refrerring to terrorism, in general, after mentioning the attacks of 9/11/01, not the Benghazi attack.....and if you quoted it correctly, you'd know that.  He said "No acts of terror..."......PLURAL.  I presume you know an "s" on the end of a word means "more than 1".

The Benghazi attack was called:
"an attack"
an "outrageous and shocking attack"
"senseless violence"
"brutal acts"
"attack"
"this attack"
a "terrible act"

The perpetrators were called"
"killers"
"attackers"
"attackers"

Never specifically called the attack a terrorist attack in any manner....or refer to the attackers as terrorists, in any manner.

....but take CNN's word for it

The White House, for the first time Thursday, declared the attack that killed Stevens and three other people a terrorist attack.

"Thursday", of course, for the mentally challenged, was September 20th.  Nine days after the attack and 8 days after the President claimed he said so.
...but DO ignore that the administration continully blamed some internet video nobody saw....including in the very statement from the Rose Garden he lied about.

You've been snookered...

"I acknowledge having racist and classist and sexist feelings of white male superiority." -John Howard

And what's with the Pipeline crack ????

And with respect to this pipeline that Governor Romney keeps on talking about, we've -- we've built enough pipeline to wrap around the entire earth once.

Wrap around the "entire earth once" ???

The practice of sponsoring programs was popularised, each individual radio program was usually sponsored by a single business in exchange for a brief mention of the business  name at the beginning and end of the sponsored shows. However, radio station owners soon realised they could earn more money by selling sponsorship rights in small time allocations to multiple businesses throughout their radio station's broadcasts, rather than selling the sponsorship rights to single businesses per show. Thanks a lot.
