BBJ: Globe Editor to Depart for WaPo! Should anyone care?

by: Karl Marx

Tue Nov 13, 2012 at 12:52:37 PM EST

The Boston Business Journal is reporting that Marty Baron is leaving Morrissey Blvd. for the Washington Post. Should the center-right care about this move? Did we get a fair shake with Marty?

Despite Howie's incantations that the Globe go out of business, careful observers note that the Boring Broadsheet has out-sized influence over political matters. Moreover, Baron earned the paper cache. Under his watch, the newspaper won six Pulitizers. Nothing to belittle there.

Discuss among yourselves.
