You are right that the Lowell Sun is having some fun at Lynne's expense...and what is it that you are doing?  A woman (the school Superintendent) accuses someone on the School Committee of harassment, Lynne get pissy about that and then the School Superintendent suggest Lynne assaulted her (she said she felt "threatened", look up the legal definition of assault) and the super runs to the Lowell police.  The Lowell police blows off the super and tells her to call another police department--which the Super says she will do.  And that is what RRRR calls a "brush with the law".

OK, I confess, I had a brush with the law this morning that was far more serious than Lynne's.  I was driving to work and a cop car passed me while I was speeding--whew, that was close.

Assault (civil):  I take a swing at someone.
Threat (criminal): "I'm going to punch you."

Here's what Lynn wrote:

Lupien wrote Monday on a recent post with some harsh language about Santoro, saying in part, "And if someone -- a person in LEADERSHIP -- calls wolf on harassment like this, I want her head on a platter. ... Seriously, if this is what I believe it to be, it's absolutely disgusting, and totally unethical, and she should be hung for it."

An assault.  Not even close.  The article doesn't say assault.

A legal "threat"? Probably not because it probably lacks the immediacy to substantiate a charge.  But will her writing trigger a Show Cause hearing?  Maybe.

Legally stupid on Lynn's part?  Absolutely.   She takes a hypothetical she admits she knows nothing about and renders an opinion--an opinion which is steeped in violent rhetoric which in turn gives the person about whom she writes, an angle to discredit Lynn and illuminate Lynn for the unbalanced loudmouth she appears to be.

Consider this an R4 Public Service Announcement!

If someone says they want your head on a platter ... you should call the police.  Even just to say, hey I think this is probably nothing but some local loud mouth in town is using some pretty violent rhetoric toward me.  If something happens to me . . .

I'd do it just to be safe especialy if I have kids.  Mary Jo Santoro was justified in calling the cops.

Lupien said she used the harsh language because she is passionate about feminist issues and as a woman, she may face harassment in the workplace and wouldn't want her claims diminished because of women who make false harassment claims, if Santoro's claims go unfounded.

This is a classic BlueMassGroup move. When in trouble play a card! Any card will do! Don't think about it! Just play the Race/Gender/Sexual Orientation card.

Lynne Lupien admits she doesn't know the details of
Mary Jo Santoro's harassment case. But that's not going to stop the feminist in Lynne from calling Mary Jo's Harassment complaint bull shit ... so full of bull that she wants Mary Jo's head on a platter?

Because she made Lynne look like a complete idiot in front of the entire city of Lowell.  

What I learned was women have this "sisterly sister thing" where they need to stick up for each other.  And that now Lynne (being a feminist) must feel betrayed by Sarah Favot for making her look like the village idiot.

Mary Jo Santoros think they can intimidate me into silence, or being nicer by failing to point out graft and abuse of the system, well, all I can say is I wear the "Queen of Mean" badge quite proudly. If being mean means holding people accountable, guilty as charged.
