"well I'll come out and say it -- we ended up with a little bit of debt." - Elizabeth Warren

by: Republican Ram Rod Radio

Wed Dec 05, 2012 at 14:44:19 PM EST

So Elizabeth Warren (Just named to the Senate Banking Committee BTW) needs cash.

Her campaign overspent and now the rich 1 percenter is hitting up her base for $$.  It looks like she had a tough time balancing her books ... ordering pizza will do that don't cha know ; )

Below the fold is a copy of her email ... Don't forget to hit the link if you'd like to contribute.

Republican Ram Rod Radio :: "well I'll come out and say it -- we ended up with a little bit of debt." - Elizabeth Warren
Long Schlong Silver,

When my campaign team planned our final budget, we knew our Get Out the Vote push was going to be BIG.

But it was far bigger than anyone ever expected.

This extraordinary effort was wonderful and it's how we won, but it created some planning challenges.

For example, we knew we would have to buy a LOT of coffee and pizza all across the Commonwealth for our volunteers. After all, we've been proud beyond words to have one of the scrappiest, toughest grassroots armies ever assembled in Massachusetts or even the country -- and a grassroots army moves on coffee and pizza.

But even our high expectations were shattered. Thousands more volunteers showed up -- and that meant even more last-minute coffee and pizza.

And more people called in asking for help to get to the polls. We were delighted, but it meant we needed to rent dozens more vans to drive every last one of them to their voting places.

But one of the results of our embarrassment of riches was, well I'll come out and say it -- we ended up with a little bit of debt.

Long Schlong Silver, we need a little more money to pay off our final bills. Can you help one more time?

Let's be clear: we won our election because we stuck to our values, we talked about real issues, and we put our money where our mouth was -- into the grassroots and our Get Out the Vote program.

I couldn't be prouder of our effort. In the last four days before the election, our grassroots volunteers knocked on more than 600,000 doors.

On Election Day, more than 20,000 people volunteered and knocked on almost 400,000 doors. Those numbers are unlike any we've ever seen in Massachusetts.

The whole effort was possible only because so many people gave their hearts and souls and opened their wallets to this campaign so that we could hire dozens of field organizers who covered every corner of the state. People like you chose to sacrifice for this campaign because you believe in level playing fields for the little guys and accountability for the big guys -- and you made it happen.

All those financial contributions made our victory possible. Everyone who bought a campaign t-shirt or scrapped together a few dollars for one of our end-of-quarter fundraising drives helped finance a television ad in Springfield or another rental van in New Bedford. Billboards and Warren-for-Senate signs -- you helped us pay for all of them.

And the numbers are just remarkable. We raised money from more donors than any Senate campaign in history. The total came to more than $42 million -- including from nearly 60,000 donors in Massachusetts alone. It takes my breath away.
I know this was the most expensive Senate race in the country. And I know that we've sent you a bazillion emails asking for money over the past year. I'm sure you expected them to all end once the votes were counted -- and yes, that's what I thought too. Right now, I'd rather be writing about filibuster reform and banking regulation.
But we still have a little more to do to wrap things up. Can you help one more time to finish 2012 strong?

We fought hard, together, because we know working families deserve a real chance to build some security. I am going to Washington to do my best to make you proud, fighting my hardest for a level playing field.

And I just had to say it again: I'm so honored to be on your side.

Thank you for being a part of this,
Elizabeth

Granny Warren is already looking for a bailout! (5.00 / 1)
She hasn't even taken the oath of office yet and she is asking for bailout money.

I guess the old cliche of 'tax and spend' should now become 'tax and spend and bailout'.

It's all downhill from here folks.....

Nice catch LSS....

We are headed for a 'Fiscal Cliff' and the country just elected a dope whose motto is 'Forward'.

Warren won't even pick up the pizza tab V3PN! Seriously! (5.00 / 1)
That is beyond cheap ... that's just plain taking advantage of middle class people that are getting hammered by the Obama Recession.

WOW - Garrett Quinn had his [cough] article up in 1 hour (3.00 / 1)
I got the email from Warren's campaign yesterday at 1:56 pm EST.  Garrett Quinn had his damage control piece up on Boston.com at 2:58 pm EST.

It's like the guy read the email, slid down a fire poll, landing him in front of a laptop to throw together a 50 word excuse.  Forwarding the crap to his editor and god knows who else, and then getting it to IT to post up on Boston.com ... all in 1 hour?

Once again, you folks are playing checkers... (0.00 / 0)
...and Warren is playing chess.

She'll probably haul in about $5 million with this email, giving her a decent reserve in her campaign account.  You folks can mock her email and thrust your chests with false macho superiority, but Warren will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Festus - I'm sure there are plenty of suckers in your ranks that will give that rich 1% er their hard earned money. (0.00 / 0)
To reimburse Warren for the pizza party she threw for them.

Question:  did Elizabeth Warren contribute to her own camplain (not a typo) or is she all about spending other people's money?

The bankrupt campaign was apparently for her, and is, an embarrassment and explains her "thank you tour".  It's apparent that she started the tour to hit up some of the Democrat whales for money with hopes that her deficit would not become widely known.

Then, when the whales didn't retire the debt, she's turned to the guppies.  You say she'll haul in $5 million; I say, she won't even get $400,000.

Keep that self delusion going... (0.00 / 1)
Warren raised $42 million in 14 months.  That is a heck of a business start up--and trounced the Brown operation.   If spinning as a negative is what it takes you to get through the day, so be it.

Yeah Gary!  Elizabeth Warren wanted to run her campaign into debt all along!  So there!

Pffffff - Can you believe these guys Festus!  Pffffff Anyone who thinks Warren's debt is a negative is just plain delusional!  DELUSIONAL I SAY!

Yeah, the decision to stiff vendors in order to win an election is something we should all respect in a candidate.

{Clearing Throat} Hey Gary, if you ask "Stiffer57" he would say stiff the vendors!

Ya get it?  Striker57 .... Stiffer57!  Obviously I'm making a play on the words "Striker" and "Stiffer" Mixing and mashing them together to form a new super handle.

{Clearing Throat} Hey um Gary.  I just have a little suggestion about your little tag line at the bottom of your comments.

{Snotty little grin} Do you think you should chnge your tag line

FROM
"Elizabeth Warren: a bankruptcy professor, bankrupt of ideas"

TO
Elizabeth Warren: a bankruptcy professor, bankrupt of ideas, and owner of a bankrupt campaign?

OR

Elizabeth Warren: Bankrupt pretty much all over the place.

Oh c'mon Stiff

I'm just having a little fun.  BTW, is BMG passing the hat around or what?  It's Christmas season after all, and Elizabeth Warren is obviously just scrapping by like so many others in need of charity this Christmas Season.

Debt is part of a campaign (0.00 / 0)
Retiring a debt is as well. Not sure any vendors have been "stiffed" and reasonably sure Warren will raise far more than needed to retire this one. And yes other peoples' money - that's kinda the idea behind fundraising isn't it? Or did Scott donate those millions to his own campaign and I missed the FEC report on that one.

No need for BMG to pass the hat my way  -I donated to the Warren Campaign all on my own. Money well spent.

BTW, I actually enjoy the humor in being labeled "Stiffer57" by someone using "Ram Rod" as a screen name!

"Debt is part of a campaign" - Stiffer57 (0.00 / 0)
LOL - This embarrassing episode wouldn't be news if it was normal for a politician to hold their hand out for donation money during Christmas ... nice try though Stiffer.

The question is, when the pizza tab is due ... what does our fearless 1%er do?  Does she suck it up and pay the pizza and coffee bill out of pocket or does she do a bailout tour?

Guys, $400,000 is a lot of money ... but put yourself in the 1%ers shoes.  You were pulling in over $300K teaching 2 friggin classes a year plus you have a little law practice on the side and now you just landed a gig making a guaranteed $160,000 a year for the next 6 years.  Your spouse makes HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS a year too.  HOW YOU COULD EVEN THINK OF ASKING PEOPLE FOR MONEY THIS TIME OF THE YEAR BLOWS MY MIND.

It ultimately comes down to this ... Does the 1%er want to take a dent out of her riches to pay off her debt?  It won't bankrupt her family that's for sure.  It probably wouldn't even require them to sell their mansion and downsize ... But it would be a sizable chunk of money that she earned.  This is a telling moment.

Bro,

You're getting careless, now. First you post your name and NOW your town? With a name like LSS I had you pegged for a Nantucket guy but now I know its Lynn. Pretty soon your cover is gonna be totally blown and youre gonna have to pull the same old switcheroo Festus pulled on us a couple years ago (I still haven't forgiven him, and I know ES is PISSED). Just sayin'

Mass GOP's History of Post Election Debt (0.00 / 0)
"This is the first election cycle that we actually have some resources remaining where we're not going to be paying off debts for the next several months," he said (he being Mass GOP Treasurer Brent Andersen).

http://bostonglobe.com/metro/2...

My, my, GOP history of camapign debt. Those poor vendors that the Mass GOP left hanging. Using other people's money. And all this GOP post election debt preceeding a Warren run in 2012? From the post I figured Warren must have broken ground as the first candidate with a debt.

And I'm a bit confused. $700,000 the Mass GOP says they couldn't spend on Brown because of the "pledge". So why not spend it on Legislative races? Losing 4 House seats with money in the bank?

Camapign reality includes post election debt. How you address that debt and being good about paying it off should help define a candidate or party. Attacking Warren or any candidate for finishing a successful race with a small debt is the height of lame. If that debt is sitting there a year from now then it's fair game to call out the candidate.

" If that debt is sitting there a year from now then it's fair game to call out the candidate." - Striker57 (0.00 / 0)
Yeah I'm sure if I made fun of Hillary Clinton's debt, you wouldn't be on here doing damage control.

C'mon Stiffer, the woman built her campaign around rich 1%ers getting bailed out while the unwashed masses get stiffed. Of course people are going to treat her Fundraising Tour as a joke.  EVERYONE knows the woman lives in a mansion, makes $350K teaching 1 or 2 classes at Harvard, enjoys interest free loans etc etc ... yeah she should pick up the pizza tab.  THIS LOOKS BAD.

Like I said above ... I'm just having a little fun, you are getting way too sensitive about this.  I haven't even started complaining about Warren's lack of Town Hall Meetings.  And she had better put on some Town Hall Meetings!  WITH CUP CAKES AND FRUIT JUICE! I want to see red white and blue streamers, and a soap box ... and a stage.  If me and my friends are going to be asking her "gotcha questions" and recording her every move ...

: )
