More Candidates for MassGOP Chair Announced

by: BNCordeiro

Fri Dec 07, 2012 at 22:10:33 PM EST

( - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

From an article appearing several minute ago online by Stephanie Ebbert and in tomorrow's print edition of the Boston Globe.

Hughes, a professional singer and an attorney, is a former political field director for the Mass. GOP who ran the party's state convention in 2010. She is also a Quincy city councilor.

Hughes ended up being the first to declare, but her emergence did not discourage others. Rachel Kemp, a state committee member from Dorchester, announced her candidacy Thursday, as did David D'Arcangelo, a Malden city councilor, and Dean Cavaretta of Acton, who are running as a team.

On Friday, Richard Green, 42, of Pepperell announced his candidacy. Green, who was elected to the state committee this year, runs an online auto parts business and is a founder of the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance, which advocates conservative fiscal principles.

Why not you, Brock? (5.00 / 1)
You are well respected, dedicated, publicly available, you're a religious man like me and Catholic to boot, a big tough bastard, and you have all the right enemies.

I would totally vote for you.

Too extreme! (0.00 / 1)
Brock Cordiero supports the Life At Conception Act, which is the most extreme and radical pro-life legislation possible and which would have enormously devastating effects on women's health and rights and reasonable laws, and he even opposes Civil Unions, no matter how they are defined, to resolve the marriage debate. Those aren't just his personal views, he applies them to government and politics, with no compromises! He writes things like this:
"my focus is on the peculiar national institution that is the American holocaust of infanticide in the womb that has caused 50+ million lives lost over 2 generations."

"I am not in agreement with civil unions & I will not compromise on that principle or issue. "

Ed I don't get it, you go around talking about how we need to rebrand the Mass GOP as less extreme and more tolerant, less focused on anti-women and anti-gay social issues and more focused on fiscal responsibility and small government, then you completely drop the ball when a chance comes along to show a stark contrast with the radical national Republicans that are promoting the extreme Personhood amendments, and now you go all crazy and suggest that someone who you must have known had those extreme positions lead the party?

Yes (0.00 / 0)
And damn proud of it.  Of course, to a radical like yourself any common sense conservative principle is extreme.

[ Parent ]
It's good you recognize that you're too extreme (0.00 / 1)
It's good you recognize that you're too extreme to be the chairman. It's bad enough that you have such extreme positions and are public about them, but that's your right of course.

Ed seems to be serious though, and if he truly doesn't get that the things he supports are more extreme and disturbing to Massachusetts voters than the things he wants to drum out (supporters of traditional marriage and religious creationists come to mind), then please help him understand that. (Maybe I'm wrong that Ed supports Personhood Amendments?)

And what am I extreme about? Certainly not my proposal to resolve the marriage debate with Civil Unions that don't give conception rights, prohibiting genetic engineering of human beings, and preserving marriage's conception rights, those are all things that almost everyone agrees with, and if you think they are extreme you probably don't understand the proposal. Or maybe it was my suggestion to collect the $30 fine for fornication on the Mass tax form? I don't think that's too extreme. Maybe it was my proposal to stop charging a fee for driver's licenses? I don't see how that could be unpopular. What are you thinking of?

Brock is a solid guy. I would definitely vote for Brock...... (0.00 / 0)
If I weren't voting for myself that is....

I suppose it is not gonna help me any to have a handle 'Vote3rdPartyNow' when it comes down to voting in the GOP Chairmanship race...Can I run as a third party candidate for the Chairmanship?  I suppose not...!

Based upon the facts presented here and now I officially withdraw my candidacy for the Chairmanship of the Republican Party in Massachusetts.

I will be casting my vote for the hottest woman in the race...

We are headed for a 'Fiscal Cliff' and the country just elected a dope whose motto is 'Forward'.

Thank you, but... (0.00 / 0)
Unless you're a State Committee member, you can't vote for Chairman.  However, I certainly encourage you & everyone else to make your thoughts known.  Then again, with that name I don't know how much weight those thoughts will be given in a partisan vote.  :)

Paul Ferro? (4.50 / 2)
I can't be the first one to think of it.  Every RTC needs to do what Paul did in Marlborough.

And he already spars with John Walsh all the time on the Twitter.

It's true ... John Walsh when he talks about Paul Ferro usually says it like this . . . (5.00 / 2)
"Ferro! Paul Fricken Ferro"
