First off, on behalf of the left, I thank those on the far right for the 2 Christmas presents they gave us in the last 24 hours. I'm sure many here will want to defend the Republican Congress' inability to vote to raise tax rates for income over $1 million. And again, most here will cheer on the NRA's call for armed police in every school in the country.
But many who support the NRA's position and the insurgents rightwing of the Republican Congress are the same folks who oppose civil rights for gays, want to allow private employers to deny workers health insurance that covers birth control or demand deportation of illegal immigrants.
If you still believe the reason the GOP lost the 2012 election was because Romney was to moderate, then you won't understand why liberals like me appreciate the wonders gifts given to us by the far rightwing in the last 24 hours.
