V3PN's Video Pick of The Day - Jan 9th - Homemade guns are legal

Of all the videos I have posted so far this one is the most interesting.  Not just because guns are front and center on the political landscape at the moment, but because I had no idea this was possible, or legal!

According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) making your own gun from machined parts is perfectly legal.  But, you can not sell them or distribute them.  Here is the link:

Q: Is it legal to assemble a firearm from commercially available parts kits that can be purchased via internet or shotgun news?

For your information, per provisions of the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, an unlicensed individual may make a "firearm" as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution.

The GCA, 18 U.S.C. ยง 921(a)(3), defines the term "firearm" to include the following:

... (A) any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may be readily converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive: (B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon; (C) any firearm muffler or silencer; or (D) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.

The above quote is referenced in the video, which shows a gentleman demonstrating how the machined parts can be assembled to build your own gun.  All perfectly legal from a federal point of view!  Whether it is legal at the state level I do NOT know, but it may be worth finding out as our liberal leaders continue to attack our 2nd amendment rights.

The company that produced this video is AresArmor.com  and they are in the business of providing these machined parts so folks can build their own handguns without intrusion from the federal government.
