Pity from BMG

A friend pointed me to Blue Mass Group, which I had only seen once before (to look at their tech platform). He wanted me to look at something, then I noticed this comment by a regular over there.

The Mass GOP is letting us down.
(4+ / 0-) View voters

I really wish the Mass GOP were better. I wish they had better leadership, and, I wish they tried to campaign on issues.

If the Mass GOP provided better competition, then we would be forced to also be better. Scott Brown caused us to develop a great field operation, for example. Our field response to Brown allowed us to win in 2010 and 2012.

Because their leadership is weak, and because they have no new ideas, the Mass GOP is letting us down.

This struck me as completely sincere, and from someone who takes their citizenship very seriously.

When I read that, I lowered my head in shame.

What are we doing.

I see it a bit differently... (5.00 / 4)
I think bluewatch occasionally posts on RMG as well.  That being said...

Look at what bluewatch actually says - 'I wish they tried to campaign on issues'.  Does he/she really wish that?  If so, they could have directed the mainstream media to stay focused on the issues instead of casting their glances at every little shiny political sideshow they could find.

The MSM and the Democrats (although they are now one in the same) had a chance to ask Obama what he plans to do with the national debt, but they didn't.  They could have asked Obama how he can avoid continuously raising the debt ceiling, but they haven't.   They could have asked him about the REAL unemployment numbers and why they are going up, but they didn't.  Mitt Romney asked him some of those questions and he was labeled a racist.

Democrats think politics is a game.  It isn't.  It is real life and the decisions they make have consequences.  This isn't some theoretical make believe.  When they ask to increase people's taxes in order to provide for the public well-being they shouldn't turn around and complain when they have less in their paycheck, which is exactly what happened over the last two weeks due to the 2% increase in SS.  They are creating a great big sh*t sandwich and soon enough they are going to have to take a bite.

Were they looking to sharpen their skills when they voted for John Tierney?  The guy is married to a convicted felon that belongs to a crime family.  He is awful and they had a real good and viable moderate alternative, but they didn't even look at Tisei.  All the talk of how we need bipartisanship is bunk.  This is a game to them and they don't care what the results are for the economy, national debt, jobs or anything else - they just want to win...

Soon enough all the looney liberals are going to wake up and find out that everything they wanted has come to pass.  They will find out that because of it their paychecks are smaller, their 401K is gone, their houses are foreclosed upon, their kids college is $85K per year, they owe $300,000 to the national debt and the federal government is listening in on their phone calls.  That is when it will hit them that they went too far...

We are headed for a 'Fiscal Cliff' and the country just elected a dope whose motto is 'Forward'.

It means we have to get better (0.00 / 0)
Mr. 3rd Party -

Here is an example of how we could be much better. We learned today that, of course, huge tax increases are coming. (no surprise to us!)

So how will the MassGOP react? We have already seen it on RMG: bitch and moan about the impact. Lots of "I told you so!"

Instead, it is time to resurrect the slogan, "Reform before revenue!" There are a huge number of already-released reform proposals from the Pioneer Institute to reform all of the areas that Governor Patrick wants to address: education, transportation, and infrastructure development.

Instead of just whining about taxes, why not have the party unite behind reform, and demand action? I think that would impress everyone and if we got even some of those reforms done, we would be respected by all people.
