Boehner should invite children to the debt ceiling meetings!

Yesterday, President Obama staged some very sharp political theatre. As a way to put a face to the dangerous gun violence that has erupted in the USA he invited a number of children who had written letters to him expressing their concern. He scored some big points with moms and dads that are feeling a bit threatened and unsure with the gun violence.

President Barack Obama high fives children who wrote him letters about guns and gun control before sitting down to sign executive orders on a series of proposals. | Reuters

Her high-fived them as he walked on stage and they returned the favor with a big smile.  This is powerful stuff and Obama does it well.

Well, soon enough Capital Hill will be alive with talks of raising the debt ceiling, seeing as we have a problem running up large amounts of spending that we can not fund with our own money!  I suggest that Bonehead Boehner invite a number of children to appear on stage with him at a press conference as well.  It's okay to borrow a very good tactic.

He should announce that the children that appeared with Obama had a 1 in a million chance of being killed by violent gunfire next year or any year after that.  But, the children with him are absolutely 100% certain to own a large part of the national debt that is being rung up in their name for people on benefits now!  Boehner should high five them and smile and ask them if they like owing $50,000 each for birth control and hospital care for illegal immigrants.  Let them all stand there and shake their heads from side to side to make the point.

Play hardball for once Bonehead Boehner!

And if the actions we take here on the debt ceiling and government result in even one less child filing for personal bankruptcy then we should take those actions.
