                   SECOND TERM WILL JOLT NATION
                                 By: Edward P. Shallow

Patriot Depot advices Americans can now celebrate President Obama's second term by ushering in higher taxes, higher health insurance costs, new gun control legislation, more national debts, and a pro-abortion and pro gay president.

What a victory for America!

Review & Outlook advises, President Obama's second inaugural address won't be remembered for stirring lines, that its purpose seems to be more political than inspirational, I resoundingly agree with this assumption.  Obama was laying down a marker that he has no intention of letting debt   or deficits or lagging economic growth slow his plans for activist, expansive government.

Obama's speech was notable for invoking the principles less to unify than to justify what he called "collective action."  The President borrowed the Constitution's opening words of "we the people" numerous times, but his main theme was that the people are fundamentally defined through government action, and his government is here to help you.

At this point I will recall one of President Reagan's famous quotes:  and it applies today:  "The most terrifying words in the English language are, I am from the government and I am here to help."

Obama continued that the theme of the speech was especially striking for including a specific defense of the federal entitlement programs that everyone knows must be reformed.   Obama cited "Medicare (I interject here to inform seniors the per person Medicare Premium will increase to $247.00 per month per individual commencing in 2014.  These provisions are incorporated in the Obamacare legislation and were purposely delayed until after the election.)
Mr. Obama also cited Medicaid and Social Security by name as commitments we make to each other.  Typically, such programmatic specificity is reserved for State of the Union speeches.  Mr. Obama almost seemed to be elevating them to Constitutional rights.

One of President's most passionate moments was devoted to addressing "climate change" of all things.

He rarely mentioned the subject in the election campaign.  But doing something about global warming is a commandment in the modern liberal catechism, and now Obama says it will be a major priority in the next four years.   He even said those who disagree with him on climate change "deny" scientific fact.

I beg to disagree with the president, I just read, (courtesy of wnd.com)  31,000 Scientists reject global warming :  More than  31,000 scientist across  the U. S.  including more  than 9,000 PhD's in fields such as atmospheric  science, climatology.  Earth science, environmental  and dozens or other specialties --have signed  a petition   rejecting  "global warming," the assumption that the human production  of greenhouse gasses  is damaging Earth's  climate.

"There is no convincing scientific evidence  that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will , in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's  climate," the petition states.  "Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the earth."

I have saved the best for last;.

A recent Fox News poll indicated 83% of the American people feel government spending is out oaf control and if not curtailed will bankrupt the United States of America. In his address the President hardly mentioned deficit reduction.

In to this space, facts to provide a jolt!
