In 2008 Kirsten Hughes Voted in New York

by: Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

Wed Jan 30, 2013 at 07:01:55 AM EST

Last night I put a publisher's comment on another post on Red Mass Group regarding Kirsten Hughes voting record.  My fellow editor deleted the comment and clarified his post to say he was only talking about Ms. Hughes' Massachusetts voting record.  My original promotion comment was:

Publisher's Note: Evidence has been provided to Red Mass Group that Kirsten Hughes was living in at least one other state during the time frame of this post.  Evidence has also been provided that she voted in that state at that time and was a registered Republican.  So while yes it is true that she did not vote in Quincy during that time-frame, it is not true that she didn't vote, or that she was not a Registered Republican during the same period.

I have been provided information by the Hughes campaign, not the Republican Party of Massachusetts, which is a screen shot from the GOP DataCenter, the new Voter Vault, that shows that Kirsten Hughes was registered in Astoria, Queens NY in 2008 and voted in the 2008 General election.  She was in 2008 a registered Republican.  This accounts for one of the missing years that Mr. Ferro brings up.  AS more information about Ms. Hughes voting record is provided to Red Mass Group it will be shared.

Doesn't answer for the other elections... (0.00 / 0)
As I told a member of the State Committee, always do research into claims, and it seems that RMG is doing just that.

My  question is is there any documentation to contradict that she DID NOT vote in the other years she was not voting in Massachusetts. Also, why not send a letter to your local Town Clerk to inform them of your registration change. Not trying to attack Hughes for not doing this, but just stating that this is something people need to remember if they do change where they vote.

So now we seem to be left with a person who did vote but was not as active in the Mass GOP as they claim. So this seems to be a problem of embellishing, which is a little more troubling to me.

Had Hughes stated "I have been involved in Mass GOP politics, except the X amount of years I didn't live/vote here" Not one would have anything to complain about. If anything it just takes away her argument that she has more years of experience than Rick, seeing as they became active around the same time.

So because she generalized, she has people questioning her record. So this isn't really a question of her voting record but of what else has she embellished?

Questions. (0.00 / 0)
I address these questions to Rob, not because they are his to answer per se, but as a means of expressing here, to you, the RMG reader, why I find the offered evidence, a screen grab of information pulled off of the RNC DataCenter, suspect.  Starting with the Source.

Rob,

1.) Why did you feel the need to emphatically state your sources was the "Hughes campaign" and "not" the Massachusetts Republican Party?

2.) If the information given was provided by the "Hughes Campaign" and not the Massachusetts Republican Party, why is the email forwarded from "Deepak Ramnath, Director of Targeting, RNC Strategy Division"?

3.) If you received it from "the Hughes Campaign" and not the MassGOP, or another GOP official, why was the "from" email address deleted at the source?

4.) If the "Hughes Campaign" could forwarded you this information, about a voter's address, in another state, four years ago, at 8:53PM (35 minutes after my post) on a Tuesday, why could the same source not provide a voting address or information for Massachusetts?

5.) Can a user, such as the source of this email "proof", edit GOP DataCenter information as was possible with VoterVault?

5.b) If a User can edit GOP DataCenter, is it possible this information was altered?

6.) Do you know why the source email sender address was deleted?

7.) Who in Massachusetts could get RNC employee Deepak Ramnath to pull voter data at 8:53PM on a Tuesday?  Would RNC members from Massachusetts top that list?

8) If the "Hughe Campaign" can have a surrogate, such as Mr. Cavarretta, respond to Mr. Elders post, why couldn't they write their own rebuttal post?
