Bring him on. Fishman will do less damage in a statewide race (0.00 / 0)
compared to what he did in the Sixth. He himself said on radio that he would have voted for Tisei and maybe some of his people might have gone that way. Moreover he will show how out of touch Capital L libertarians are in a state where President Obama enjoys 60 percent job approval.

What would Fishman have to draw in votes for the Libertarians to gain party status in MA?

Please inform me.

"Work is the essence of Man."

3 Percent (0.00 / 0)
3% of the vote is required.  The Green-Rainbow Party lost its party status recently for falling below that threshold.

However (0.00 / 0)
However, the 3% only applies to your regularly scheduled biennial election and not special elections so the Libertarians, Green-Rainbow, and other parties who are not officially recognized as such by the Secretary of the Commonwealth won't meet that threshold even if they hit 99%.

Major Party Status (0.00 / 0)
Many Libertarians believe that major party status is actually harmful to their party, because it makes it much more difficult to put candidates on the ballot.  As a political designation, they can collect signatures from any registered voter, but major parties must get signatures from either members of their own party or unenrolled voters.

Losing Up (0.00 / 0)
It's seems to me that more and more candidates lose an election for one office and next time. See them they are running for an even higher office.

Fish an is a good example of this.  He got a little over 4% of the votes in his Congressional run and now he has decided that a shot at Senate is a good opportunity for him.  I'll give him credit for taking the time, energy and expense of running, but at some point you have to ask yourself, who is Daniel Fishman?

More like what is Daniel Fishman? (0.00 / 0)
The answer would be the difference between a liberal convict getting elected or Richard Tisei. That 4% you scoff at would have made a big difference in that election, and as far as I can tell, the only big "L" in that election were all of us out supporting Richard. We should not overlook any candidate that might eat into out numbers no matter how insignificant.

Oh, so you've met Dean? N/T (5.00 / 1)
